I'm all over the place today but I'm gonna talk about why I love Lams so much after I ranted about one of my least favorite ship (coff coff death to Hamriah coff coff)
In short, I'mma be fangirling a bit
I honestly don't understand why people who make John and Alex's relationship be all passive housewife x macho muscleman even ship Lams because none of what they do represents what makes Lams such a good ship which honestly just makes me assume these people only ship Lams because is uwu sInFul GAYYY boiiIIISss
I've been told many times that Lams is a boring ship and I'm always like "gASP" but then I remember how much of the fandom portrays it and yeah, I get why many people don't find it entertaining.
But at its core, regarles of crazy Hamilton fans and bad representation, is such an awesome ship. Lams is the story of two utterly fucked up people who somehow found love and comfort in each other in the middle of a war of all places, but they couldn't express their love openly because it was forbidden. It's a heartwarming and heartbreaking story simultaneously, for me Lams it's a like a book that got its last pages ripped out. It had no closure, it ended with a death. Which is why I get angsty and say history robbed me of Alexander and John being da best political partners.
Talking about partners, that's one of the other awesome things about Lams that gets thrown away in the fandoms submissive uwu x dominant jcsjncm dynamic. There was no sidekick, no submissive one. They were teammates, partners in crime, equals. And I just love their 'us against the world' dynamic, it's so wonderful and it's so disappointing that in so many Lams fanfics Alexander is the smartest badass who's better than John at everything, and I imagine this is the same thing with other Alex ships (except Hamgelica maybe because the Musical gives this "nobody's as intellectually in tune with Alexander as Angelica that's why they're perfect for each other" vibe. I legit will never get over the fact that Lin said they were soulmates like, hello???? Eliza exist??? And so does Laurens???) because that's not the reality of their relationship, or any relationship tbh. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. And like John and Alexander complemented each other so nicely? I believe that so did Eliza and Alex but in a different way but this is a Lams fangirling chapter, I can talk about how I perceive Hamliza and Lams compared to each other some day.
So, in short, I just love those two idiots so much????
