The weekend came all to quickly for Fae. She had been dreading it since Jen had said she was allowed to go stay with the Blossoms. Fae was hoping her new mother figure would say she needed more time to heal or something stupid. But no, Jen had said it was an amazing idea and that she was glad Fae was making friends. It was moment like those that made Fae hate Jen, but not really because she was an amazing human being.
Fae sighed as she sat in the Blossoms red car after school. She and Cheryl were waiting on Jason and apparently Reggie, because he was now coming as well, to finish up with basketball. Or maybe it was something else, Fae couldn't remember. She wasn't much into sports.
"I was thinking maybe a blue for your bikini. I think you look amazing in blue, oh! Or maybe a forest green! That would make your eyes pop more." Cheryl says as she plays on her phone.
Fae frowns, she really doesn't want a bathing suit. She doesn't want to learn to swim or get things for the party next week. She just wants to go home and hide. Besides she can't wear a bathing suit without showing off all her scars.
"Cheryl, so I really have to do this.. I don't feel comfortable about wearing next to nothing.. and I really don't want to swim..." Fae all but whines. She can do that now that her and Cheryl are closer. She knows Cheryl adores her, even with her 'horrendous fashion sense'.
"Fae, I say this because I love you. You are getting a bikini, you are hot! You need to start flaunting that body of yours girl!" Cheryl says and Fae grumbles.
"But cherry, I have all these..." Fae sighs and fiddled with her sleeves. "I have a lot of scars Cheryl.. I don't want anyone to see them... I'm embarrassed..." Fae says, her voice cracking. She's beyond embarrassed and she's about ready to cry.
Cheryl frowns and pulls Fae into a hug. "It's ok... you don't have to be embarrassed or ashamed... Fae you are an amazing person. So what if you have a few scars! Everyone has them, some just aren't on the surface."
Fae had told Cheryl a little bit about her family. How her father left and her mother became abusive. She even told her about her attempts at suicide. She told her how much she hated herself and how bad she had wanted to die. But even then she had left out a lot of things. It was a slow process but Fae was eventually going to tell Cheryl everything. Just little by little.
Cheryl had actually cried, she had held Fae and begged her not to try to kill herself again. After that Cheryl told Fae about her evil mother and how unloved she felt. She told her about the girl she had loved and how her mother had ripped her away.
"We'll get you a one piece ok? I'll help you pick it out and everything. If anyone says anything they'll have to deal with me! I'll always protect you Fae, you're my best friend." Fae smiles softly at Cheryl.
Bother doors to the car open breaking the girls out of their moment. The boys get in and frown at them. It's obvious they were having an important conversation.
"Should we come back?" Jason is quick to say seeing the tears in Faes eyes that have yet to fall. She quickly blinks them away and wipes under her eyes.
"Nonsense!" Cheryl says in an offended tone of voice. "We've been waiting long enough! We have to go get Fae here a swimsuit, and while we're at the mall i want to browse for some more birthday present ideas. Especially since you still haven't gotten her anything!" Cheryl playfully glares at her brother. Jason is quick to hold up his hands in surrender.
Fae giggles at two of her best friends. "He doesn't have to get my anything cherry. None of you guys do. Your friendship is more then I could ask for." Fae confesses to the other three in the car.
