Fae had spent the rest of the day in a happy states. She had pulled out the money needed to buy Penny and Starlight, plus an extra bit just in case. She knew how Mike could be. She didn't want to chance loosing them. Fae also knew she was already overpaying.

Today she was not as excited. She really didn't want to go to the farm but she knew that was the only way she was getting her horses. All she could think about was the pain she had received when living there.

"Babe, you ready?" Reggie asks Fae as they get into the truck. He hadn't told Fae yet but he had called her father last night while she slept and asked for advice. He didn't want Fae on that farm at all if he could help it. But since she needed to pick up the horses there was nothing he could do. Jim had told him that everything would be fine, he'd call one of his old cop buddies and make sure he was there while everything went down.

"As ready as I can be." Fae admits as she pets ambush.

"I uhh, I talked to your dad last night." He admits, fae lifts her head and raises an eyebrow at him. "I was worried about you and how things might affect you. Your dad said he'd have one of his old cop buddies there to make sure everything went smoothly."

Fae smiles, "I love you Reggie." Fae leans over and kisses him. "You're too good for me."

"I'm not good enough, you deserve someone so much better then me. But as long as you'll have me I'll be yours."

"I will always have you then. I never want to loose you." She kisses him again. "Now let's go get my horses."

The farm is large, over 200 acres. Linda seems to have added a few new animas to her collection. But that's not what Fae cares about, what Fae cares about is that her horse, starlight, is covered in bites from the other horses. Shes scabbed all over and Fae could kill her mother for leaving her in the pen with the group of mares.

"Are you fucking kidding me? What the hell? Look at her!" She glares at her mother. "You let them bite her all to hell!" Fae is not an angry person, never has been but in this moment she is livid. Starlight had been the only one of Penny's babies to survive.

Reggie seems to be disgusted as well, but unlike his girlfriend he's calm. "I think you need to rethink that price." He says as he holds Fae to him to keep her calm.

"Wheres Penny?" Fae snaps before Linda can say anything about the price. They had already loaded the hay and saddles they were now waiting on one of the ranch hands, that Linda had to hire after she lost Fae, to bring Penny.

Fae, who had ahold of Starlights lead line, pets her neck lightly. There was no way she would get far in the trailer, Fae had to think of what she was going to do. She couldn't make Starlight take that trip. If Penny's condition was anything like Starlights then she wouldnt be going far either.

"I'm so sorry Fae! I didn't know anything about her condition! The farm hands are supposed to take care of these things." Linda, whom actually seemed sober, cries.

Fae rolls her eyes. "I need their paperwork so I can cross state lines. You should go get that." She turns away from her mother and places her attention on Starlight.

"Ma'am, we have a slight problem." One of the farm hands says as he walks up to them. "That Colt, the one that lost it's mother, he's taken to the mare. She won't let us near her."

"Jesus Christ," Fae grumbles as she hands Starlights lead line to one of the officers her father had asked to be there. "Where is she? Bring me to her." Fae demands as she pulls away from Reggie. She follows behind the man with Reggie not far behind her and a distressed Linda behind him.
