Fae had finally found someone to inspect her house. It had only taken her a week. The house was perfectly fine needed a little remodeling but it was perfect. The same could not be said about the barn. That was rotted and termite infested. It would have to be torn down and cleared out before it could be rebuilt. Luckily Fae knew just who to go to for such work and that's where she was at that very moment.
"Hello my lovely serpent friends!" Fae beams at the group she hadn't seen in a week and they glare at her. She frowns back, "what did I do?.."
"Did you know that house you just inherited was last owned by a serpent?" Toni asks as she leans across the table in front of her.
"Wait serious?" Faes eyes are wide as she sits down. "No way, I don't even really know the guy who left it to me. All I know it that he's my great grandpa from Linda's side. Grandpa Cross, he left me everything."
"That makes you a Serpent by blood." Fangs smiles, "Liam Cross is one of the original founders of the Serpents."
"Your great grandfather had to of known my grandfather. He's one of the founding members of the Serpents." Toni smiles brightly.
"Do you think he could tell me about him. I mean I didn't even know this man and he left everything to me. Well a third of it was left to Robert but he's gone, and another third to Ashley but she refused to take it, the rest was left to me but I ended up with it all... anyways I want to know more about him." Fae admits as she leans towards Toni. At some point, she can't remember when, she had sat down.
"Yeah, I'm sure he'll know lots about him. Just come over whenever." Toni says as she takes a drink.
"Ok that's great! But none of this is the reason I'm here. I was actually hoping to hire a few Serpents to help me out. The barn on the property needs to be demolished, removed and then I want to rebuild it. Plus the house needs a few things." Fae drums her fingers on the table.
"Well I'm sure they'd do it for free Fae. We don't need your money." Toni says as she frowns.
"I know you don't, it will make me feel better if I officially hire them to do it. So you guys think you can get a group together? I kind of need it done, at least the house done, before school starts. I want to start getting things ready for when..." she trails off. Fae has to remind herself that she hasn't told Toni and Fangs that she is pregnant.
"Ready for what Fae? Is everything ok?" Fangs asks as he sets his glass down.
"Everything's fine.. actually I need to tell you guys something.." Fae bites her lip and looks down. "I found out a couple of weeks ago and I feel bad for not telling you guys because you're always here when I need you.."
"Hey whatever it is, it's ok." Toni takes Faes hand in hers and squeezes. "We're here for you Fae."
Fae looks to Toni and smiles. "Alright, ok, i'm uhh.. I'm pregnant." She just rips the bandaid off.
"Wait seriously?" Fangs leans forward. "That explains a lot. You getting sick, not drinking with us, selling the bike. Damn, I'm surprised Pea hasn't killed Mantle yet."
"It's not Reggies," she admits. Looking down at her hands Fae feels ashamed, she knows it's stupid. It's not her fault the baby is not Reggies. "I'm uhh.. I'm about eleven and a half weeks along.." Fae hopes they can put the puzzle together on their own, she hates saying it out loud.
"Wait so.. well fuck.." Fangs, always the one to make you feel better.
Toni smacks fangs hard upside the head. "Shut up Fangs!" She growls at him. "Are you going to keep it?" Toni asks her friend.
