With a wave of Loki's hand, green lights illuminated the place, turning the library into a magical paradise of emerald sparkles. A sincere smile appeared on Loki's face as warm memories washed over his heart. This was the first magic Frigga taught him when he was a small child. Loki remembered crying because, at the time, the simplest magic was so hard for him that he thought he'd never be able to master it, let alone something as big as creating clones, illusion or shapeshifting. But his mother was always there. His mother, who never gave up on him and was so patient with him, always gave him her reassuring smile every time Loki felt he couldn't do it. She would pull him up on her lap, showering him with kisses and telling him she believed in him. Her love and her belief were what kept Loki going. And look at him now! The Trickster God with the most powerful magic. Loki got all of these because of Frigga, because she believed in him and never gave up on him.

"Good old times. I remember those days" A soft voice coming from the side made Loki turn his head to the direction. Frigga walked toward him with a warm smile on her beautiful face.

"Hello, mother" Loki smiled back, closing his eyes as Frigga leaned down and placed a soft kiss on his forehead, her hand running through his raven hair.

"Words can never come close to describe how proud I am of you, my son"

Loki could feel tears accumulating in his eyes, tears of pure joy. It's what he'd been waiting to hear his entire life. After all, all Loki ever wanted was to make his parents proud.

"I love you, mother" His voice cracked, a drop of tear ran down his face as he looked up at the woman whom raised him.

"I love you, Loki" This was always the part where it got too much for the God of Mischief. Loki closed his eyes and allowed more tears to roll down his cheeks.

"I wish you were still with me... I'm sorry I couldn't protect you" When he reopened his eyes, there was no sign of Frigga, no green sparkles, and the dim light of the library filled the atmosphere once again for Loki stopped using his magic. After all, this wasn't the first time he created an illusion of his passed away mother to fulfill the void in his heart.

Little did Loki know, he wasn't alone. Thor stood there in the shadow, hiding behind a book aisle. The Thunder God watched the whole thing with his numbed heart. He felt so numb. Thor never knew just how much Frigga meant to Loki. She was their mother, and to lose her by the hand of a monster felt like knife through the heart for both of them, still, he didn't know it was this hard for Loki. How could he not know that?! Loki was locked up in dungeons when it happened. He never got a chance to say goodbye. Damn it, they didn't even allow him to attend his own mother's funeral!

Asgard was gone. Destroyed. The Odinson brothers lived here on Midgard, in the Avengers compound. Thor was on his way to the kitchen for some late night snack when he accidentally saw Loki sneaking out of his room. So he decided to follow because he thought his brother was going to cause chaos and shenanigans. He was wrong. Thor gulped, he felt lump in his throat and pang of guilt in his chest. How could he still think so little of his own brother?! If anything, Thor was supposed to be the one who believed Loki could change. He should have known Loki did change for the better, he wasn't the same man who attacked New York six years ago anymore! Oh, poor Loki, just missed his mother. Thor knew he couldn't just turn around and leave Loki here. So he decided to make his presence known.

"She must have been proud of you, brother"

Loki almost jumped out of his skin by the unexpectedly familiar voice and footsteps walking out of the shadow "How long have you been here?" The Trickster pretended to be pissed, quickly wiping his tears away with the back of his hand in the process.
