Loki just wanted to be a good little bro. Really. That was all.

Keeping the distance, Loki sat in silence. He watched T'Challa wrapped his arm around Shuri, they were laughing, talking about whatever subject Loki wouldn't know; he was out of earshot. But he could tell they were having a good time. And it occurred to Loki just how much he longed for this; the siblings love. He had almost forgotten the last time he and Thor shared any kind of brotherly affection. Lately all Loki and his brother did was fight - bitter words throwing towards each other. Thor was unhappy. Thor didn't particularly directly say it, but Loki knew he was unhappy. Could it be that, just like Loki, Thor missed the good old times when the Odinsons were able to go more than five minutes without getting into a fight?
Loki quickly looked the other way when T'Challa's gaze turned his direction, feeling somehow vulnerable that he almost been caught staring (or already been caught?) Loki the bad son, a voice echoed in his head and it sounded like Odin. Loki the bad brother, another voices joined, this time it sounded like dozen of people speaking at the same time. He could almost tell one of them was Thor's voice. Then Loki realized he was the one to blame. It was always him who screwed up. If he wanted to mend what had been broken between him and Thor he'd better start by changing himself.
He needed to be better.

The ringing on the nightstand table woke Thor up. He yawned, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes (both real and fake one) and fumbling around till his hand landed on his phone. Who would call so very early in the morning? When Thor looked at the caller ID it showed 'The Man of Iron' Some emergency mission perhaps? Thor thoughts, bringing the phone to his ear, "Whose ass do I have to kick?" He asked, feeling a bit grumpy his sleep ended so abruptly.
Tony's voice on the other side replied, "No one's. Hopefully no one's. But could you come to the kitchen real fast? Like - now. Just come, please."
Thor furrowed. Tony didn't give him a chance to ask what was wrong; already hung up. And the Thunder God figured he'd better go and find out despite how much he wanted to go back to sleep.
The second Thor entered the kitchen he stopped dead in his tracks, and he blinked because he wasn't sure if he saw it right. But no, Thor recognized that raven hair anywhere. Standing in front of the pan, apron tied in a knot at the back of his waist, making what seemed to be pancakes, was definitely his mischievous brother. Loki was up super early (normal) and was making everyone breakfast (not normal)
"Loki?" Thor sounded beyond surprised, he was shocked. And so were Tony, Nat, Steve and Bucky who sat around the dinning table, looking more like they were expecting Loki to snap than waiting for the food.
"Good morning, brother." Loki turned around, the brightest, most sincere smile on his face, "I'm making pancakes!"
"I see..." Thor's eyes glued to his brother's face like he was trying to figure out what game Loki was playing, like Loki would curse him if he were to look away for one second. Danger! The voices in Thor's head screamed, but he cautiously reached out to take the plate from his brother's hand. "Thank you," Thor said, he held back the 'I suppose. Will it turn me into a frog?' And, being extremely careful as though looking so intensely at the food would help him decide whether or not there was poison, took his first bite. Not before sniffing though.
Chewing slowly Thor tried to detach the ingredients. He was taken aback by the fact he couldn't pick up anything... wrong. He didn't know what he was expecting, nor did he know how poison tasted like, though in his mouth it genuinely tasted like a normal, harmless pancake. So Loki made him breakfast. Out of sincerity. No, Thor quickly told himself before he'd get it in his head, Loki was definitely up to something, and there was one thing more terrifying than the fact Thor wouldn't turn into a frog; that one thing being the unknown of what mischief the God of Mischief had in mind this time.
