Heimdall informed Thor, and the Thunder God quickly rushed back to Asgard as fast as he could, praying with all his heart he wasn't too late. How could father do such thing?! Thor felt so sick. But then he remembered the king's words; 'Frigga is the only reason you're still alive, and you will never see her again.' But now that Frigga was dead, brutally murdered by the Dark Elf there was no reason for Odin to keep the traitor. Loki, no.

He saw people gathering and knew what it was even if he was still in distance. He could see the glimmering of the blade of the guillotine from far away, anyway. Thor gritted his teeth, shoving down his burning anger he stomped (more like ran) to where he knew his father would remain.

"Have you lost your mind?!" Even though Thor knew it wasn't the smart thing to say, it was the first thing he said once he emerged from the doorway, entering the chamber. Odin stood on the balcony with his back towards Thor. It was the perfect spot to witness the execution. Thor had seen his father standing there countless amounts of times before when Asgard's prisoners got their heads lopped off. Never once was there the king's own son in the list of death row inmates before.

Odin, however, didn't even flinch by Thor's unexpectedly arrival. Or perhaps Odin had expected Thor to come, been waiting for his other son to come join him in watching his youngest's death; death by his own order.

"Father-"

"If you think I take pride in beheading my own son, you are wrong, son." Said the king, back still facing Thor.

"You could stop this. You can still stop it. It's not too late!" Thor's voice on the verge of pleading.

"There must be consequence for what Loki did," Odin sighed, "What kind of a ruler would people see me, if I cut a prisoner a slack because said prisoner was my son?"

"Imprison him, then. A life sentence-"

"Son," Odin cut Thor off, "The crime your brother committed is so great that even I cannot lighten his penalty to only a lifetime in a cell."

"But you said he were to spend the rest of his days in the dungeons. You said it. It's your words-"

"Under the condition that his mother still draws breath, yes. Now that she is gone, I am afraid there is no other way. Loki brought this to himself." Odin's voice lack of emotion, and it was final. Thor knew it was final; having seen the man acting as a judge so many times before.

Thor shook his head, "There are reasons behind his action, but you are too blind to look. Father, Loki is not the only one to blame. It was us who drove him off the edge. If his hands are dirtied by innocent's blood then so are ours! A killer don't just wake up one day and go on a killing spree if he wasn't pushed enough!"

Odin remained silent. Didn't even turn around to look at Thor. And if the old man thought Thor was going to stand by his side while Loki was killed he must not be as wise as everyone said he was.

"I hope it's worth it." Thor said, quieter this time. Then he walked out the chamber, lost, clueless, numb and angry. His brother was going to die.

Standing amount the crowd Thor felt as though all the air had been sucked out of his lungs, leaving him utterly breathless, when they brought in the prisoner; his brother. There was a bag over Loki's head, his wrists were cuffed behind his back, the chain around his ankles caused difficulty when he walked with two guards escorting him up the stairs and to the wooden stage so everyone could see. After all there was no pride nor dignity for the prisoner when it came to public execution. On the stage there was yet another guard; an executioner. They shoved Loki on his knees, strapping his neck to the guillotine.
