Mysterio messed with Thor's head. That shit ain't pretty.

///

Thor blinked a few times, rapidly, as he shook his head. He tried to rid himself of the toxic, magic, intoxication - whatever it was that man had done to him. So far Thor hadn't succeeded much; his head was dizzy and his mind was foggy. His thoughts were cut short by some unknown force just before he could think of anything. It felt as thought he was pushed underwater, held there and he wasn't strong enough to fight, to break the surface. Everything resulted in all these numbness clouding his senses. Norns, he didn't even know where he was.

Where was he again? Thor struggled hard to keep himself together. The last he remembered was him confronting Mysterio.
(disregard how the team warned him not to underestimate the enemy and take him on on his own without a backup - Thor never listened, perhaps he may now started regarding his action of slipping out at night all on his own thinking he got it under control... clearly he was wrong and he learned it the hard way)

The compound. He needed it get back to the Avengers compound. Even though his pride was hurt Thor knew his body faced much more worse, and it would need some medical attention - either Banner or Strange would provide him that.

Thinking about this made Thor feel like laughing, but he knew if he were to laugh it would be hysterical that his injured body wouldn't be able to endure in such condition. But oh how hilarious this would be - Loki had told him perhaps a hundred times that it was stupid to fight Mysterio alone. Thor just didn't listen. Always so reckless. So full of himself thinking he was immortal and untouchable. So stupid, hissed a voice in his still dizzy head and it sounded terrifyingly like Loki's.

Loki - that greasy little mischievous brother of his wasn't going to let this go anytime soon, that Thor was sure of. The greasy god would mock, he would say, 'I told you, you dumb oaf' and Thor was going to have to listen to this for a very long time. But hey Thor would prefer it this way; to have Loki mocking his stupidity because it was better than not having an annoying younger brother at all.

Loki was resurrected from his death.

It wasn't easy, bringing Loki back. But if Thor - the Almighty God of Thunder - said death couldn't have his brother then death had to spit him back and return him to Thor's loving arms. It was... what Midgardians would call 'made a deal with the devil' or 'sold his soul to Satan' But fuck it. Really. Thor needed Loki back and he sure got Loki back.

Loki healed. There was nothing Thor loved more than watching his brother heal. The process was slow, step by step but at least he healed. He was healing.

His neck was the most sensitive part, the slowest to recover. Thor found this a pure torture for him; not being able to hold Loki by his neck like how he would normally do as their gesture of comfort (there was a time Thor forgot about Loki and Loki's trauma; he placed a hand on the side of Loki's neck, Loki froze immediately, genuine fear in his eyes, body turned rigid and face turned as pale as a ghost that Thor quickly withdrew his hand) Every time Thor looked at the bruises ringing Loki's throat (thanks to Thanos) he had to hold back the urge to grimes, to look away. He couldn't let Loki see those reactions for Loki would think his deathmark disguised Thor. Which wasn't the case at all. It was only that seeing them brought back memories Thor wanted to forget; memories of Statesman - Loki's hands clawing at Thanos', Thanos' hand wrapped around his throat, his legs kicking the air , fighting for oxygen that wouldn't reach his lungs, and that horrible crack when his bones crashed under the pressure, body went limp like a rag doll, tossed to the ground with a thumb in front of Thor. Unmoving. Dead. Gone.

Thor shut his eyes. He had to stop and tell himself to breathe. It was over. He got Loki back. Loki wasn't dead anymore, no, he was with the rest of the Avengers in the compound, waiting for Thor to return (Thor figured they might have noticed he was gone by now) and all Thor had to do was get back to the compound as fast as possible so he could see Loki.
