There are countless amount of things Thor regretted; all of them involved the way he treated his brother. If he could have just one wish, it'd be another chance to make it right. He just wanted another chance.

Setting foot on Asgard's palace again made something inside Thor's numb heart twist. It was a feeling he couldn't describe. It taken him aback by surprise that he was still capable of feeling... things. His cold, dead heart remained dizzy for so long. In fact, Thor hadn't felt a thing ever since he decapitated Thanos five years ago. But now the Avengers wanted to undo what the Titan did - now that he, for whatever reason, agreed to be a part of this he found himself traveling back in time, with the talking rabbit, to his home when it still stood tall in its glory. Home. He was home again. Norns, Thor thought he'd never come back. This felt like a dream. Though as Thor spun himself around to take in all the details of beautiful paintings on the walls, to breathe in familiar scent, he knew it wasn't a dream. Looking out the window he saw his mother's garden with fountain and roses and birds chirping. In his head he could almost see two little boys chasing butterflies, smile on their faces, only to realize those boys in his imagination where himself and his brother in the good old days when everything was so easy. They used to be so happy. So young. So innocent.

"Thor!" Rocket's voice snapped him out of his trance. "We need to hurry. Come on. Lead the way."

Thor nodded, blinking to try to clear his mind, then he said, "This way."

To get to the Aether without risking being seen they had to walk through the dungeons. Thor completely forgot it was this time in the past where he was locked away.

Loki laid with his hand under his head, throwing an object in the air only to catch it and repeat the action over and over again. He was bored out of his mind. Screw Thor, he thought bitterly, screw Odin. He didn't deserve this. He didn't deserve to be locked up until he rotted. If anything it was Odin who made him do it. If fa - if Odin told him what he was from the beginning none of this would've -

"Loki,"

Loki's thoughts were interrupted by a familiar voice calling his name. He knew who it was, and at first, he almost didn't want to turn to look. Didn't want to see anyone. Didn't want to be seen. Of course, Thor was here to mock. After rolling his eyes Loki slowly glanced toward the magic glass panel that kept him away from his freedom. He was... a little bit caught off guard. The God of Mischief was sure it hadn't been that long since he'd last seen Thor. How could the oaf gain all these weight so quickly? And what in the Nine Realms was he wearing? What happened to his eye? And - and those ugly beard and.... was that a raccoon??!

"You look like a homeless man," Loki didn't realize he'd said it aloud as he propped himself up on his elbow.

Thor, however, just looked at him as though Loki was a ghost. As though he wasn't the one whose appearance had changed so much that Loki almost couldn't recognize him at first. All of these didn't make any sense, at least for Loki.

"Thor, we need to hurry!" Said the raccoon. Oh so it's a talking raccoon. A talking raccoon and a brother that looked nothing like his brother. Could this get any weirder? Loki wondered as he carefully appreciated the glass.

"What happened to you?" Loki asked, now they were so close to each other. So close.

In Thor's mismatched eyes Loki could see the reflection of himself and his brother's tears. Thor never cried.
