When we were leaving the court house after we got the papers we started our trip home. The court house was about 15 from my dads house. We were stopped by a cop he asked me my name and Alex for his. "I'm Evvie Mena" I said to him and Alex said his name. "Do you know we have been looking for you both for the past 2 and a half days" the cop said. "I'm going to have to take you both into custody for an interim crime. I'm going to call your moms and tell them your hear." He said.

Alex and I looked at each other with worry.  I looked at my dad and told him to leave so he would not get into trouble. He didn't want to leave but after a while he did. The cop took us over to a court room to wait for our parents. When we were waiting the cop was asking us question after he told us that we weren't in trouble with the law. " why did the two of you run away from home" he asked. "Well we love each other and her family did not expect us together or me in general" Alex said. After about and hour and a lot more question Alex's mom came to get him.

When she walked in she had a smile on her face when she saw Alex but it quickly faded. Alex got up and walked over to her they hugged just like a mom and child should. It was so loving, and caring she truly missed him and even if he didn't want to say it he missed her. That separated from the hug and h looked at me then walked out of the room with his mom.

Alex's POV

I walked out of the room with my mom and said "I have something really important to tell you" I looked at the ground then back at my mom. "I proposed to Evvie and she said Yes. We want to get married". My mom looked so shocked she could not believe what I was saying. Then she started laughing. "That's not funny next time you make a joke make it funny" she said as she grabbed my arm leading me to the doors of the court house. I pulled back from her grip and said. "I'm not joking we are engaged, we love each other, we are going to get married and have a future together." "Alex you have no idea what you are talking about you are a 17 year old boy, the only thing you should be talking about is your grades, your family and you future job. Not that you going to get married and have a future with some girl." She yelled at me.

At this point we were having a full on agreement inside the court house, a crowd of people was forming around us. The crowd was of people in the court house, people coming into the court house and of people that were walking past and wanted to know what was going on. "I might only be 17 but I know what I want, right now and in the future." I yelled "You don't know what you want!!" "I do know what I want I want to get married to Evvie. I want to get married to the most Thoughtful, Outgoing, Positive, Incredible, Cheerful, Forgiving, Honest, Committed, Reliable, Responsible, Respectful, Confident, Trustworthy, Optimistic, Unselfish, Upbeat, Funny person I have ever met. There are so many more words I could use to describe her but I cut it short because I think I got my point across. This is what I want mom, she is what I want"

My mom was speechless she didn't know what to say. She walked over and hugged me so tight and said "if this is what you truly want then that's fine and I will support you 100%." As we separated I was Evvie's family. Her grandma had tears in her eyes and her grandpa had an approving look on his face. I looked over at Carlos and had a smile on his face the to miss Mena. Her face was full of anger and unapproved, she walked right past to go get Evvie.
