Louis and I talked every day and I’m waiting with Harry for him to get home-he got home that morning. Nathan hasn’t contacted me at all, but the fact that he’s going to be, or already could be for that matter, in the same city trying to find me makes me sick to my stomach, and Harry notices.  I’m biting my nails, staring completely into space, and he has to wave his hands in front of my face to get my attention.

“Yeah?”

“What is going on with you..shouldn’t you be excited?”

“I am excited. It’s just-something else is going on.”

“Are you going to tell Louis?” Me and Harry have grown really close lately, I tell him practically everything.

“Well, I need to.”

“Is he going to be mad?”

“Not at me.”

“Alright. What’s going on?” He turns the t.v off and turns on the couch to face me.

“You know that guy Nathan? Homecoming?”

“Oh yeah, Louis told me he called after you went home the other day.”

“Yeah. He did, and again on Christmas.”

“He did?”

“That’s not the worst part. He’s coming here. To London.”

“Just to find you?!”

“London has always been where he’s wanted to go.  Always. And apparently he’s coming with his parents for their yearly Christmas break vacation.”

“Well is he trying to find you?”

“He said he wants me to come back to him.  He’ll give me one more chance.”

“But you’re obviously not going to…”

“Hell no.  But the thing is, he won’t stop. He’ll come and find me.  He’ll try to make Louis look like an ass.  He’ll find a way to get me to turn against him.  Or he’ll physically hurt him.”

“Do you know by when?”

“Probably in a week or less?”

We hear a car pull up on the driveway and harry looks at the door. “Then we’ll just make sure that doesn’t happen, okay?” He opens his arms and pulls me into a hug as Louis barges in the door.

“My two favorite people!” He drops all his bags on the floor and Harry runs into his arms, burying each other’s faces into their shoulders.  That’s another thing I’m grateful for.  If Louis sees me and Harry hugging, he would never think anything of it.  And besides, Harry gives great hugs when you’re feeling shitty…

Harry and him release each other and he walks towards me smiling. “Hi.”

“Hi.” I hug him and bury my face in his striped sweater, wrapping my arms tight around him .  I breathe in his smell and gather his shirt in my fingers.  God I missed him.

“Hey, you okay?” He whispers in my ear, and I don’t answer, finally pulling back to kiss him a few seconds later.

“Better now.”

He looks at Harry and Harry smiles slightly, nodding his head twice.

“Come upstairs with me?”

“Yeah.” He grabs his bags and carries them up the stairs, me following behind him.  He drops his bags at the foot of the bed and closes the door.

“What’s wrong?”

I sit on his bed. “Remember how Nathan called after your party?”

“Yeah.”

“He called again.”

“When?”

“Christmas.”

“And you didn’t tell me?!”

“You were with your family, and I had the girls, so I just figured-“

“What’d he say?” He’s on the verge of angry, clenching his teeth.

“He’s coming here, to London.”

“What?! Why?! You needed to tell me!”

“He said he’s giving me another chance to take him back.  He’ll be waiting for me to go back to him.  And he won’t exactly rest until I do.” He licks his lips and looks out the window.  I can’t figure out his expression. “What?”

“You make it sound like you’ll go back.” His voice is small, quiet, almost vulnerable.

“Louis, no. I used to love him, not anymore.  Never again.  What I’m saying is he’ll come and fine me.  He’ll come and find us.  He’ll try to break us up, he’ll cause a disaster.”

“Will you go back to him?”

“No. I’m almost hurt you think that.”

“I just don’t see how I got so lucky.”

I walk to him and stand right in front of him, the tips of our shoes touching.

“You got lucky? Louis, you could have anyone in the world that you wanted.  I’m lucky my mom got this job.  I’m lucky I don’t still have a bitter attitude towards this whole situation anymore.  I’m lucky to have you fall for someone as plain and normal as me.  I’m lucky you finally showed me what a girl should be treated like.  I’m lucky I found someone to get me to forget about Nathan, to take me on adventures, to surprise me. To fight for me. So don’t tell me how lucky you are.”

“And fight for you I will. I promise you.” He kisses the top of my head and I lean into his chest, not wanting to move. Not wanting to change a thing. Until my phone vibrates.

Nathan: i’ll be waiting!

He attached a picture of the airport, large and wonderful in all its glory.

Fuck.
