Jesus christ I hate alarm clocks.

I slap my hand over the button, stopping the beeping and sit there for a few seconds. I eventually jump out of bed, pulling the covers off the rest of the girls and opening the shades.

“Whaaaaaat?” Alexa groans.

“Oh quit complaining. Since the boys are going back on tour today, we’re going to go on a little trip. You’re across the ocean, you’re not all going to sit in this house. So come on, put on something comfy, bring semi-party clothes, and stuff for a few days overnight!”

“Well where are we going?”

“Well that obviously has to be a surprise for it to be any fun, now doesn’t it?”

The girls and I pack all our things, stuffing them into the back of the Escalade.

“Where is this car from?” Molly asks.

“What do you expect with her job? Every car in this profession and anything to do with it is big and black.”

“Very, very true.”

We start our two hour drive, stopping for brunch about 30 minutes in.

“Hey mom, can we turn music on?”

“I don’t know how to work this car!”

I moan and take off my seatbelt, leaning forward so I can reach. “Do they have any..oh my goodness.” I press the eject cd button, and a plain silver cd pops out with Lou’s scrawl on the top.

the ones i can tolerate ;)

xx

I smile and let out a laugh, placing the cd back and pressing play.

“What was it?”

I hold my finger up, signaling for Alexa to wait a few seconds, waiting for the first song to play.

I’ve been a walking heartache

“Did he make this cd for you?!”

“Remember, I gave him cds for his birthday? He burnt one of his favorites, apparently.”

“Why are you two so adorable?!”

I roll my eyes, and we jam out to country the rest of the way, giving my mom a headache, making our voices hoarse. We finally arrive at our hotel, waiting in the lobby as my mom checks in.

“So what are we doing here? And, where are we?” I still haven’t told the girls anything, and they’re more curious than they’ve ever been.

“Can you guys just calm down? It’ll be worth it, my goodness.”

We go to our room, put everything away, and it’s already 1:00. The four of us are in one room, my mom in another across the hall, and I go to her room, peaking my head in the door.

“When do we need to leave?”

“I need to be there by 3:30.”

“Oh, so we should get ready, like..now.”

“I would!”

I turn around and the girl are peaking their heads out our door, trying to listen in on the conversation.

“Alright, alright! Just start getting ready, you’ll know in a little over two hours!”

We walk through a back door, a security guard standing at the door, letting us in when they see us.

“Sarah, this is really sketch.” Molly says, pulling my hand.
