"Ashton, you know we can't do this." Sydney says to me with sympathetic eyes.

"What he doesn't know won't hurt him!" I plea with Sydney. If only she didn't have so many invested feelings with Luke, this would be so much easier.

"Ashton, how could you say that!? It doesn't matter if he doesn't know. What matters is that I know and I can't do this with you and then go back to Luke. I can't cheat on him any longer. I'm sorry." Sydney says and I'm jolted awake.

When I wake up, it's 10:30 and I just finished my dream about Sydney. I dream about her a lot. I check my phone to see if I have any messages.

None.

"Mum!!" I call wondering if she's home. I get up to look out the window and her car still isn't home. 'Where could she be?' I wonder. I go back to the couch and finish reading the chapter assigned for homework tonight and when I finish I go and get some soup. Minutes later, I hear my mum come through the door.

"I'm home Ash!" she calls to me.

"Yeah.. I know" I respond to her "do you want some soup?" I ask.

"You still haven't eaten!? Hun, it's 11:00 you need go get some sleep." she states "but since you asked yes, I'd love some."

"So how was work?" I ask her as I proceed to pour her some soup.

"Busy as hell. How was school?" she asks as she hands me my soup.

"Normal." I inform her.

I finish my soup within five minutes and then go get ready for bed.

"Goodnight, mum!" I call down the stairs. When she doesn't respond, I go down stairs to see where she is. Passed out on the couch, I grab the blanket next to her, drape it over her and take off her shoes.

Once I get in bed, I can't help but think about what Sydney might be doing right now.

Sydney's P.O.V.

"I can't believe that loser was on your street this morning. He must have some nerve..." Luke says trailing off in his speech. All that he's talked about since he's called me was Ashton being on my street this morning. He's starting to get on my last nerve.

"Luke, can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"Why do you care so much if he was on my street? All he was doing was riding his bike to school." I question Luke.

"Uhhh look Sydney, I gotta go finish my essay. I'll see you in the morning." he says and hangs up. What is with him!? I wonder.

About ten minutes after hanging up with Luke, I brush my teeth, braid my hair and get in bed.
