Okay, well here goes.
"Well, I was born is Australia and I loved it there but my mom and dad divorced each other and so we moved here when I was around twelve to get away from him. So I've been here from sixth grade. I haven't made any friends really, only acquaintances and allies if I can even call them that. Then I started high school and everything got worse." I tell her. Hm. I guess there's not as much to me as I had originally thought.
"I'm your friend." Sydney says as she puts her hand on top of my free hand and offers a smile. She isn't making this easy for me. "What about little facts about you? What do you like to do? What foods do you like?"
"What I like to do? I love to play the drums!" I inform her.
"Oh my gosh! Can you show me sometime!!?" She asks.
"Yeah," I say back with a smile. "I'd like that"
"Yay!!"She cheers. "So what else is to you?" She asks. I feel like she wants to know everything about me, which I don't mind, but I don't even know everything about me.
"Uhm..to be honest, I don't really do anything besides play the drums for fun. Sometimes I watch tv but, playing the drums is the only thing I like to do really."
"Well you must be really good then."
"I'd like to think I am hah."
"Can you teach me sometime? I mean it's not like I'm ever going to make a hobby of it but I think it'd be fun to try" she asks me.
"Yeah," I reply with a smile. "That'd be fun."
"Yay!!" she says with a laugh and so I start to laugh. She has one of those laughs where it's just so beautiful, everyone has to stop and listen to it and before you know it, you're laughing along with her. For about five minutes we're laughing so hard we can barely breath.
"I don't even know what's so funny!!!!" she manages to squeak out through laughs.
"Me either!" I manage to get out. We're interrupted by her phone ringing.
"It's my mom, I should probably get this." she says mellowly, as she catches her breath.Sydney's POV.
I answer my phone, dreading what's waiting for me at the other end.
"Hi, mom," I reply, bracing myself for the blow that's about to come.
"Sydney, where are you!?" she questions me.
"I'm with one of my friends." I inform her.
"I want you home in fifteen minutes." she demands.
"I'm a bit further than fifteen minutes away, mom."
"All of your friends live fifteen minutes or less away from us. I expect you home in fifteen minutes." She says and hangs up.
"My mom wants me home in fifteen minutes." I inform Ashton.
"Oh...how'd she find out you weren't with Luke?" he questions me.
"A little bird who I just dumped must have tweeted it to her." I tell him, assuming he'll get my metaphor I used to refer to Luke with.
"Oh..okay." he says as I return my hand to his. Sydney, what are you doing!? You're leading him on and you don't even like him in that kind of way! Do I like him in that kind of way? He's a complete sweetheart and treats me so nicely. He's adorable and has very nice physical features as well. Maybe I do like him?
-------------------------------------------------------
"Well thank you so much for tonight, Ash. I had a really good time!" I say as I pull my hand away from his and open the door.
"Yeah, anytime! I had a good time too."He says with a smile. I smile back, close the door, and head for my house.
------------------------------------------------------
When I get inside, everyone is in the living room; my mom, my sisters, my dad and even the devil himself: Luke.
"Where the hell were you!?" my mother and Luke say simultaneously. Surprise, surprise!
"I was with my friend." I say back, to my mother.
"She was probably with Ashton!" Luke says accusingly.
"Who's Ashton?" one of my sisters asks.
"None of your business!" I say back.
"No, Sydney. Who is this 'Ashton' character? As your boyfriend, I'd like to know who you're hanging out with when I'm not with you." That two faced son of a bitch!
"You're not my boyfriend." I fire back.
"What do you mean I'm not your boyfriend? We went out on a date today." This asshole is really asking for it!
"Oh yeah! I completely forgot! Why don't you tell my parents what you tried to do to me today on our 'date'." That, is what you get when you try and play that game with me. I can tell that I've caught him completely off guard. He stands there for a few seconds, rubs his hands together, swallows and says:
"What do you mean 'what I did to you today?' I took you out for lunch, you went to the bathroom and never came back. I eventually checked the bathroom but the window there was open-"
"Oh cut the crap, Luke! You tired to fucking have sex with me against my will you you know it!" I scream at him with watery eyes. "You fucking cheated on me with Sadie and then you say that you're sorry and that you'll be faithful and then when I say that I know that you can't do that and try to leave, you fucking grab me and try to get in my pants!!" at this point I'm crying. Not because I still have feelings for him and I miss him, but because I feel so betrayed by the person that I trusted.
"Sydney! You know that I would never do that to you!" he says as he takes a step towards me.
"Do not fucking dare come near me!" I say through clenched teeth.
"Sydney, are you sure that you're not mistaking me for Ashton? I mean, you barely know him. You know me, you're family knows me, and we all know that I would never do that to you." He says as he takes another step towards me. Clearly he doesn't know what stay away form me means.
"Don't you fucking dare bring Ashton into this!! Ashton would never do anything to hurt me and would never force me into doing something that I don't want to do!" Now, I'm full on crying. I have black mascara tears streaming down my cheeks and there's nothing more that I want to do than run away from here to a land where it's just Ashton and me. "Get out!" I say to Luke. He's standing there, pale as can be, as if he's just seen a ghost. "Don't just stand there and look at me! Get out!" He seems to finally get my message as he starts to move but stops just before he's out the door and says,
"See ya later babe." and holds my cheeks and kisses me for about five seconds, despite my struggles to get away.
--------------------------------------
"How could you guys just stand there and watch him treat me like that!?'I yell at my parents.
"Julie, Hannah, go upstairs." my mom says. "You just made a really stupid move Sydney. You know that!"
"So you want me to stay with a guy who cheated on me, tried to have sex with me against my will, and just flat out lied to you guys!?"
"Sydney, sometimes in life you have to do things that you don't want to do. Staying with Luke is something that I advise you do. He has money, Sydney, and lots of it-"
"Oh my God, mom! You want me to stay with him because he has money! You'd rather have your daughter be unhappy and be with a boy who has money than be with a boy who genuinely makes me happy?!"
"Sydney, you should really stay in your class, you know what I mean?"
"Not really, and I don't think I want to."
"What I mean is, it's not good to mix upper class and lower class. Because-" I have to cut her off! I can't bare to hear her speak like this any longer.
"Just SHUT UP MOM! Money has nothing to do with wether or not I want to be with Ashton!" I say to her as I walk up to my room to grab my car keys. When I get back down stairs my mom asks
"Where do you think you're going!?"
"Somewhere where I'm not being driven crazy!" I say to her as I walk out the door and go and get in my car. I can only think of one place where I won't be driven crazy, and only one person who I can tell these events to right now who won't judge me at all.(Hiiiiiiiiiii guys!!! Sorry that it took this long for the update! I've been a little busy lately but thank you for reading the story, it means soooo much to me <3 And by the way, the picture of Ashton up top is from when they went to the restaurant together! Also, the discussion between Sydney and her mom about money, Sydney is supposed to come from a rich family and her mom is supposed to be really stuffy and bitchy but about the money thing, I just though that that would fit Sydney's character's mom well.)
