Let Her Go

Chapter 16

Bea's POV

A quiet ride on the way to Jia's house is undeniably visible. We are lost in the mellow music that's been playing inside my car. One of my hand is on the steering while the other is wrapped around Jia's waist. From time to time I checked her if she's able to sleep because I told her to take a rest while we're on the road. What happened earlier is just too tiring that is why I asked her to take a nap. Her face is buried on my neck while she wrapped her arms around mine. No one has the right to hurt you, Jujubear. No one has the right to make you cry. If it happens, they have to pass through me. I'll protect you with all I have. That's a promise.

We stopped infront of Jia's house and I can't help but to get mesmerized by the beauty in front of me. I was glad that she's able to take a rest even just for merely an hour because, for sure, she needs it. I'm still not waking her up 'coz looking at her face, it made me feel a lot positive emotions within me. After a few minutes, I decided to wake her up. I started to tap her arm but to no avail. There are few strands of her hair directly  flowing into her face and I decided to hook it on her ear. My palm found it's perfect spot on her cheek and I gently caressed it and unconsciously, I found myself staring at her lips. My thumb is tracing every part of her lips and I can easily identify that it is my heart pounding very hard against my chest simultaneously. I was so lost in this moment then I found myself slowly closing the gap between us. As I closed my eyes, I knew, I have reached the side of her lips, barely touching her right cheek. My lips stayed in that specific area for a several seconds. I opened my eyes and to my surprise, Jia is awake, looking straight to my eyes.

"Umm..if you're waiting for my apology because of what I did, I might disappoint you. I won't say sorry for kissing you, Jujubear."

She remained quiet and I knew that she's not going to utter any word. Instead, she decided to open her door and decided to get all of her stuff  from the backseat. I can't figure if she's mad or anything that is why I'm still waiting for her to say anything. I will be firmed to what I have said to her earlier that I won't apologize for what I did because, my philosopy, you just have to apologize if you did something wrong and how can be that action be labelled as wrong if  it really feels right? And not saying any word doesn't automatically mean that she's feeling it in negative way.

"You'll just stand up there and won't help me with this stuff, Beibei?"

I smiled as I approach her to get the other stuff that she's carrying both on her hands and we enter the house afterwards. It's almost dinner time that's why she also invited me to eat dinner inside.

We decided to stay inside Jia's room because the dinner is not yet ready. She's using my lap as her pillow while she's reading. I am sitting on the edge of her bed while she puts her feet on the headboard. To make myself busy, I decided to gently massage her temple and using my fingers to comb her hair. We were on that position when we heard a knock on her door, it was Jobok, telling us that the food is ready. I was the one who opened the door for Jobok and after that, unexpectedly, Jia wants to resume what we are doing. She wants me to go back to her bed but I refused.

"It's a bit late already Jujubear. Remember, I still need to drive back to my house right? I can't stay here. Sorry."

I approached her to get off from her bed so that we can eat already and just like what I've told her, I still need to go home. Besides, minutes have already passed since Jobok knock on her door and told us that the food is ready.

"Tss. I still want to lie here in my bed with you, Beibei."

She's totally cute with her pouted lips and irritated look but I need to stop myself from smiling because she might misinterpret me and think that I am not serious that we really need to eat already.
