--Liam--
*Greg's POV*
*15 minutes later*
"You ready for this?" Paul asked as we walked up to the front door.
As soon as we were at the front door, I knocked.
"As ready as I'll ever be." I replied.
A moment later, the door opened and revealed his parents.
"Mr. and Mrs Payne, how are you?" Paul said with a huge smile on his face.
"Paul, is that you?" Mr. Payne asked.
"It is." Paul replied.
"What are you doing here, if you don't mind me asking?" Mrs. Payne asked.
"We heard about Liam and wanted to take him on a trip. We're hoping it will cheer him up." Paul replied.
"Why now? He's been like this for years and you're only now coming to check in on him." Mr. Payne said with slight attitude.
I figured I'd let Liam doing the talking on this one. I have a feeling that this could either go really bad or really good.
"We only just heard about his condition just recently. I haven't seen him in awhile and figured he needed some time away from everything." Paul replied.
"Well, I don't think that's a good idea. His daughter is out of town and-" Mrs. Payne started, but Paul quickly interrupted her.
"Don't worry, we'll take good care of him, we promise." Paul stated.
"I still don't think it's a good time. His condition worsened ever since his daughter went out of town. I think he should stay here so I can keep an eye on him." Mrs. Payne stated, her overprotective mother side coming out.
"That's all the more reason for him to come with us. We promise to keep a close eye on him. I promise I won't let anything happen to him." Paul assured her.
They both looked at us with skeptical looks. After a moment, Mr. Payne was the one to finally speak up.
"You promise you'l make sure he eats. And that you won't let anything happen to him. I don't need him coming back worse than he already is." Mr.Payne said.
"Yes sir, I promise." He replied.
"Then yes, he can go." Mr. Payne said, receiving a look from Mrs. Payne.
"Don't worry, I trust Paul to take care of him. Now come pack a bag while I go get Liam." Mr. Payne said to his wife before they both disappeared into the house.
"What was that?" I whispered to Paul once we couldn't see them anymore.
"Our plane departs in an hour and a half. We didn't have time to explain everything to them." He whispered back.
"So you lied?" I whispered.
"No, I just didn't tell them the entire truth." Paul whispered back to me.
"So you lied to them?" I whispered.
"Whatever." I mumbled as Mr. Payne came back with Liam in his arms..
"You can just put him in the backseat of my car." Paul told Mr. Payne.
"You didn't get a driver for Liam?" I asked in confusion as Mr. Payne walked over to Paul's car.
"Why? We're going straight to the airport anyway." Paul replied.
"True." I said.
A few moments later, Mrs. Payne came out with Liam's bag and placed it into the trunk. Once we said our goodbyes to Mr. and Mrs. Payne, we pulled out of the driveway and made our way towards the airport. Thankfully we have a private plane, so if they freak out, they won't cause a scene.
