*Darcy's POV*

Hi, my name is Darcy Styles and I am a high school senior right here in London, England. I have four best friends, Ally Tomlinson, Marissa Payne, Emma Horan, and Taylor Malik. We all have been the best of friends since we were freshman year, but it feels like we've known each other forever. We even all have the same dream, to become famous singers. You may already have heard this once or twice, but ever since we sang as a group for our first group project for one of our first music classes in freshman year, we knew that we wanted to pursue our dream as a group. Though I have this dream, my dad would never approve. When I was little, I always heard him complaining to mom about different singer/songwriters and how being famous was nothing special. So I kept my career a secret from him. Instead I told him that I wanted to become a lawyer. And he was proud of that. That was until mom died a few years ago. Ever since then he lost all interest in my life. He just locks himself in his room, curled up under the blankets in his bed. Every time I hit an accomplishment, whether it be getting a good grade in school or getting my drivers license, I would go into his room and share the good news. But he wouldn't say anything. He would just lay there, staring off into space. So eventually I gave up. I gave up on trying to make him proud of what I accomplished. So now I pretend he's not even there. Well most of the time anyway. I go in a couple of times a day to make sure he eats. But other than that, I completely ignore the fact that he's there. Anyway I should probably head to school.
