"So you're not going to tell me what's wrong?" Ashton asked as Calum drove them to school

"Don't play games with me you asshole. You've ignored me as much as you could and all of a sudden you care?" Calum scoffs

"I always cared..."

"You can't blame me for not believing you do. Now leave me alone I'm not in the mood."

"Calum what the fuck happened?"

"You were right.. okay? Leave me alone." and with that they were both quiet for the rest of the ride even when they picked up Michael and Luke

That is until they got to school

Ashton slammed Calum's car door shut and stormed into school

"Don't say anything please!" Calum called out

Everyone's attention was on Ashton who pushed Nate against the lockers

"What the fuck did you do to Calum?"

"Ash leave him alone!" Alex rushes over

Nate looked at Calum and rolled his eyes

"You mean that prude? I thought he was some slut turns out he's only one for you."

"Shut the fuck up." Ashton spat

"I'm only telling the truth. Calum Hood is a prude."

Ashton pulled Nate onto the floor and started punching him

"Ashton stop!" Alex yelled

Everyone started recording

Calum ran over and pulled Ashton off of Nate but Ashton elbowed him in the eye by accident

"Shit." Ashton got off of Nate and security escorted the three of them to the nurses office

Ashton got an ice pack for his knuckles and Calum got one for his eye
Nate had to be sent home

"You're so stupid." Calum sighed as they sat in the nurses office

"He was a dick."

"Well now I actually believe you."

"You should've believed me in the first place. I've always looked out for you."

Calum looked at Ashton and smiled softly

Alex rushed in and sighed

"Shit ash you good?"

Ashton nodded

"Excuse us." Alex smiled at Calum and pulled Ashton into a bathroom

"What the fuck Ashton?"

"What?"

"Why would you punch Nate?"

"Did you not hear what he was calling Calum?"

"Yeah but Calum's not your boyfriend anymore or your actual brother so it's none of your business."

"What are you saying?" Ashton asked

"It's not your fault Calum's a slut for you."

"Get the fuck away from me."

"What?"

"I said get the fuck away from me."

"Ashton..." Alex laughed
"You love me."

"I might not know what love feels like but this is certainly not it."

Alex scoffed and walked out

Ashton looked in the mirror he sighed and walked out

He smiled looking at Calum who was talking the nurse into letting them go home

She eventually gave them a note excusing them from school

- Saturday-

"Ashton just pick up your phone. Alex's gonna keep calling." Calum sighed putting down his book as he tutored Ashton

"No."

"Why are you ignoring him?"

"I don't want to talk about it."

"I recall not wanting to talk about Nate but you made me."

"So you're gonna make me?" Ashton laughed

Calum crossed his arms "If I have to"

"Give it your best shot hood."

They stared at each other and as Ashton was least suspecting it Calum tackled him

"You tried." Ashton smiled flipping them over so he was on top. He straddled Calum's wrists.

"Just tell me."

"Why do you want to know so bad?"

"oh Ashton... don't you know? Family look after each other." Calum put on his innocent face and Ashton rolled his eyes

"Don't say that shit to me."

"Ashton I don't think you should talk like that to your brother." Calum teased

"Would your brother be inches away from your face right now? Would your brother take you to parties and give you hickeys?"

"Woah Ashton I didn't know you were so into incest."

Ashton laughed

"So.. can you get off now?" Calum asked

Ashton stood up and helped Calum up.

"Why have I just heard about what Nate did to you? where does he live?" Calum's dad asked entering their room with a baseball bat

He looked at Ashton's fists which were still bruised

"Oh... I guess you had it covered."

"Yep I love my big bro." Calum snickered

"Umm well I guess I'll let you guys keep studying."

"Thanks for checking up on me dad." Calum smiled as David closed the door on the way out

Ashton stared at him
"I hate you."

"Every sibling has their feuds. Mali and I have it all the time. Actually we're currently in one because I said her 'boyfriend' was hot in front of our parents."

"Why'd you make those hand signals when you said boyfriend?" Ashton asked

"well you can't tell our parents but Mali's fake dating him only to get our mom to stop questioning why she doesn't have a boyfriend yet. If you ask me she's copying us but okay."

"I swear Calum if you keep saying calling them our parents."

- night -

"Ashton?"

"Yeah?" Ashton asked as he turned off the light

"Why were you ignoring me?" Calum asked turning to him as Ashton got in bed

"I- I can't tell you."

"You can't tell your own brother? Wow shame on you."

"If you keep calling me your brother I'll show you every way possible on how I'm not. That's a promise. Night Hood." Ashton whispered falling asleep leaving Calum with goosebumps and questions.
