Twenty One

Ashton, Luke, and Michael all paid close attention to Calum, not to mention his new friends Violet and Austin. Calum still was in that same empty state of mind. Everything was starting to get to him.

He was sick of the way guys threw themselves at him on the daily. And sick of how Ashton has to snap at people and get all jealous. He was just sick.

"Cal, babe did you hear me?" Ashton whispers softly while they're in their room.

Calum looks up at him with these big puppy dog eyes, but there's no light and joy inside them anymore. He shakes his head, "No..sorry.."

Ashton lets out a small sigh, and runs his fingers through his boyfriends hair, they were cuddling in bed together.

And that's another thing Calum was sick of. The way Ashton was treating him now that he knew he was sad. Speaking softly and quietly all the time.

Calum loved the constant affection, but sometimes Ashton spoke to him and treated him almost like a piece of glass. Like he was afraid Calum would shatter.

"I said..Violet and Austin want to know if we're going to their Halloween party."

Violet and Austin were becoming quite popular since they were friends with Calum, and since they were new. Popular new kids was what all the school loved to talk about.

And since they had a pretty big house, they thought why not have a party.

Calum took a minute to think. "Yes. But on one condition."

"And what's that?"

"We wear matching costumes."

Ashton laughs, "Like a couple costume?" and Calum nods.

"It would be cute.."

Ashton sighs and shakes his head, "You really are a nerd."

Mali walked into the room, a little startled by them cuddling. "Calum I need your help- oh uh. You're..very close to each other."

Calum avoided eye contact and mumbled. "Yeah..we are."

Mali closed the door and came closer, lowering her voice but still squealing. "Are you two back together!?"

"Technically the first time was fake." Ashton points out.

"Right...oh wait, do mom and dad know?"

Calum sits up, "No. And they can't know, so please keep your mouth shut."

Mali raises her arms up in defense. "Fine okay. But you know I'm gonna constantly be taking cute couple photos of you two now."

Mali left them alone after harassing them a bit more.

Ashton gave Calum just the slightest little kiss. "So what should our costumes be?"

Calum gets up smiling, running to his closet to find his big glasses, and a spare pair. "We could be nerds!"

Ashton laughs. "Calum..baby..we can't be something you already are." Calum pouts at him.

"Come on, lets go to the store."

At the store, they spent a while looking. "We could be characters from Frozen!" Calum laughed.

Ashton stood in the slutty costume aisle. "Or you could be-"

"Nice try. Not gonna happen." Calum cuts him off.

Ashton walks down the couples costume aisle, and there's things like crayons, and mustard and ketchup costumes.
