Not only was it awkward being in the same class as Si Cheng it was even more awkward being roommates with Ma'yu. I tried my best to avoid going home as little as possible for a week before the day came where she realized I was gone so often.
I'd sleep in libraries, eat in corner stores, relieve myself in bushes if it meant not going home to Ma'yu. It was the middle of the night when she called me. I still didn't understand why the library was open so late as if anyone would come to read Shakespeare in the middle of night but I figured as college students, a rigid sleep schedule is expected. I contemplated ignoring the call but eventually decided I could ignore her forever.
"Xaoxi! Where are you?" She practically yelled into the phone. I didn't give a clear response, I just told her I was at the library. "Library? Come home! I haven't seen you in forever!"
I sighed at her over reaction before, smoothing out my clothes and standing from the soft loveseat. "I'll be home soon." I confirm, starting to walk home while handing up.
