I woke up to an unfamiliar tune being sung from the closed door from beside my room where I could hear water running, however I could make out a few words,
"I like the summer rain, da da da da da, we put the world away, da da da da da da"
From the hear of it, the song sounded catchy, but the voice that filtered those lyrics made me cringe.
I swung my feet over the couch, letting my feet hit the floor, as I realized too late that it was a bad idea.
I let out a small yelp, which immediately I heard the water stop and a shirtless Luke come out with a towel around his waist.
I raised my hands out in front of me to try to stop Luke from coming closer to me.
"I'm fine, I'm fine," I reassured him, "Just forgot that happened," I pointed to my foot.
I took a deep breath. Now it was kind of awkward because I really couldn't distract myself from a shirtless wet Luke. I directed my eyes to his face practically trying to stop myself from like drooling. Oh wait, I almost forgot he was a pig.
"Can you get Cal or someone to bring me some ice?" I asked.
"Uh, sure" he stuttered as he left.
Five minutes later Cal and Luke both came back into the room with some frozen peas. Luke continuted his way back to the bathroom to go finish his shower.
"Sorry," Cal laughed, "we only had frozen peas and the trainer ran out of ice packs."
"Some trainer," I scoffed, "I'm pretty sure Michael could have taken the glass out of my foot with no experience better than he could have."
We both started laughing as we realized at how bad of a job he did.
The laughing died down and then came the killer question.
"So, what happened with you and Luke?"
I averted my eyes to the blank wall behind Calum. How was I supposed to say this? He led me on? Thought I was special. I'll look stupid. Calum probably knows what his best friend does. He travels with him, I don't know it's probably just me being tremendously clingy. Rock stars go through girls like girls go through clothes. Fast.
"Nothing happened, absolutely nothing." I sighed.
I didn't want to explain all my Luke problems to his best friend. I rather not share that with anyone. He would probably tell Luke.
"It sure doesn't seem like it," Calum exhaustedly stated, dropping his shoulders, "Luke has been in a down mood I guess ever since last night."
"Probably won't be too down after the next one," I mumbled.
"What?" Calum urged trying to get me to explain more.
I stayed silent. I didn't want to talk about Luke anymore. He wasn't going to be apart of my life ever again so why stay in the past? What's done is done. I saw Luke's true colors not when he was comforting me when we were lost, but when he was being lectured about the girls he has taken out before.
The boy who comforted me in his arms and let me rest my head on his shoulders was as stupid as it sounds be was my knight in shining armor for the night, but that armor was cracked. And leaked acid which destroyed everything (That didn't make sense oops).
"Mave?" Calum questioned, "Mave?"
That nickname hurt me. Luke created that nickname. It was weird sitting here in a room while he was just one room over and act like everything was ok. They weren't, but I don't want to burden Calum with my problems.
"Are you okay?"
"Uh yeah," I sputtered out still not looking Calum in the eyes.
"Why won't you answer any of my questions honestly?" He asked while he ran his fingers through his hair.
"Cause nobody wants to know the damn answers!" I shouted as I finally stared Calum dead in the eyes. My lip quivered. I was gonna fucking cry again.
I'm always crying no matter what happens. I'm such a baby. I can't handle things, what is wrong with me?
"Cal I know you're not going to let me leave yet so can I be alone for a little bit?" I asked trying to get rid of the young boy politely.
He nodded and turned for the door. I lied down once on the couch again and heard the door starting to close, but it's as the door was about to shut I heard a quiet voice,
"I'd listen to your answers Mave."
