I took as longest I could possibly take cleaning the rest of the stage.

I ran the broom over it 40 times and put all the chords and stands back in place about 5.

I tried not to think of the Calum's invitation. Maybe I could say I forgot because it got so late. Maybe I could say I got a call from my mom saying she wanted me home. The thought of my mom made me shudder.

She's probably out getting laid or something. Sleeping with a stranger. Not caring about me.

All of the above maybe?

My thoughts were interrupted my footsteps approaching. I checked my phone 2:33am, I was positive that all the crew went home already.

Oh shit. This means that the person towards the stage was a member of one of the bands or someone who worked with them. I was hoping for the manager or something.

I dropped the broom which landed which a thud and I started thinking of places to hide.

I ran behind a speaker and bent down praying no one would find me.

Apparently my praying wasn't enough.

Thanks to the big guy up there, knew I could count on you because the next thing I knew someone's had cleared their throat.

I grimaced. Wonderful.

"Um hello?" A thick Australian accent was evident.

I slowly looked up cursing to myself as I looked up to Luke's blue eyes and blonde hair.

God dammit. It just had to be him.

Ok if I looked dumb before now I really look like a freak.

I slowly got up brushing off my jeans trying to think of an excuse.

"I-I w-was looking for one of the cables," I stuttered out.

Luke then looked to my right at all the organized bundles of put away cables I did about 4 times earlier that night.

I mentally face palmed myself. I'm actually a dumbass.

Anyway he smiled at me (which I'm pretty sure was a smile out a pity and he was trying to think of how to walk away nicely) and I tried to smile back slightly shuddering at the fact he just found me hiding behind a speaker.

I pursed my lips while an awkward silence was brought upon us.

I want to sink into a hole in the ground and dissapear.

"Well," he started breaking the awkwardness, "I was sent by Calum to see if you were still here or ran away before you had a chance to properly meet us," he chuckled at the end of it.

Of course. Calum sent someone to get me.

"Uh yeah," was all I managed to get out.

He smiled once again. "Well if you are coming then I'd suggest you come now. The boys will probably come and find you before you have a chance to escape," he finished as he bit his lip.

Damn I just noticed the lip ring on his lip. Jesus. He looked really good.

Wait what was I saying? I hardly know this guy and I've made a fool out of my myself more around him more times than I've actually talked to him.

"I doubt that," I commented.

All of a sudden a voice appeared out of nowhere and I felt a weight on my back.

"MAVERY!" Calum screamed in my ear.

I was going to be deaf for about 20 years.

Man does that boy have a pair of lungs.

It's like a megaphone is attached to his mouth at all times.

"Calum," I tried to say enthusiastically

"I thought you ran away from us," he laughed as he put his arm around my shoulder.

Guess I can escape now.

"Yeah no never," I mumbled.

Out of the wings another boy came out.

"Hi Mavery." This boy had curlyish brown maybe even golden hair.

"Um hello," I quietly responded.

"I'm Ashton," he held his hand out to mine to shake it.

I hesitantly shook it and let out a small smile.

"Where's Michael?" Luke asked.

As soon as the question escaped his lips a voice was heard in the wings,

"They have gummy peaches and gummy dinosaurs, but they don't have god damn gummy worms! What even is this place!"

This boy had colorful hair and was extremely tall just like the rest of them. Black skinny jeans hugging his legs and a Rolling Stones band tee attached to his chest.

"As a matter of fact we did have gummy worms," I informed him with a smirk on my face.

Wow me smirking what world did we just enter?

"Where are they?" He asked with a pout.

"In my stomach," I said with a grin which quickly faded as I realized it sounded better in my head.

The boys started laughing, even though it wasn't that funny. Like at all.

Michael made a look of astonishment.

"You're evil," he gasped as he clutched his heart dramatically.

I looked at the laughing boys in front of me.

Maybe they aren't too bad.

Maybe I'll get through tonight.
