- Second Thoughts -Bellamy walks into the room that had been his home for the last six years, his eyebrows furrowing when he sees that Coralie held their sleeping child in her arms.
"You're supposed to be packing." He gently closes the door behind him.
Coralie timidly looks up at him.
"Look," he sighs, sitting on the bed and shuffling beside her. "I know it's a risk, but they have a transport which means they carry fuel."
"It's not a risk I'm willing to put Aurora through," she frowns. "We'll need to burn most of what we have left just to dock, which means we won't have enough to get back here - to the place we've been safe for the last six years."
Bellamy's quiet for a moment. "You don't want to go back to Earth," he realizes and her eyes fall.
"I didn't say that," she mutters.
"But you don't."
"I want to see my brother and all of our friends we left down there. But at what cost? Ever since we've got to Earth all we've known is death and harm after death and harm. Aurora's been safe here since the day she was born. I'd rather that than throwing her into harm's way every day," Coralie rants quietly, trying not to wake the child.
"I don't see it like that," Bellamy shakes his head, his eyes shifting from Coralie to Aurora. "I see it as the best way to live. There's nothing up here but screens and steel. O and Wonkru should be out of the ground by now and they've most likely started a civilization already. We go down there and join the party."
"I wish I could see it that way, but I can't," Coralie frowns. "I wouldn't have cared either way if it was just me and you... but-"
"Yeah," Bellamy murmurs as he watches the five-year-old sleep, her head against her mother's chest. He feels that with every day she grows more and more similar to Coralie. It was as if Aurora got no genes from her father's side, but he knew that wasn't true because the little girl also resembled Octavia at the age of five.
A plush grey rabbit rested in Aurora's hold, her grip tight against the stuffed animal. It's been her one and only toy her entire life and its name was Tavia - she had named it that after hearing her father talk about Octavia with her mother.
"But that's what we're for, right?" Bellamy looks back up at Coralie who had a worried glint in her eyes. "We're her parents. We're here to protect her at all costs and make sure she's safe. And we'll do exactly that..." He's quiet for a few seconds, contemplating to himself before speaking once more. "You're not having terrors again, are you?"
