(Darkrai)

Malamar and I were at the top of the gorge watching Mismagius, the children, and two of the Beheeyem escort the prisoners, including Jenna's friends and family, to the only entrance and exit. The other three Beheeyem were standing behind Malamar and I, making sure I didn't try anything. The chains were taken off of my sides and tied around my wrists behind my back.

As I was carefully memorizing the faces of those I care about the most, I noticed something was missing.

Or rather, someone.

"Where is Jenna?" I enunciated as I looked at Malamar out of the corner of my eye with a sinking feeling in my stomach.

He sweat-dropped and avoided eye contact before replying; "Oh, her." He swallowed nervously then added nonchalantly; "She got kidnapped again almost an hour ago."

Realizing I have been tricked, I swiftly faced him, my anger clearly visible. "You filthy rotten-!" I started to yell before he interrupted me.

"Save your insults, King Darkrai, I know who has. Quite frankly we were just about to go after them when you showed up and delayed things." Malamar added as he folded his arms with an annoyed expression on his face. "Now," he began as he smirked. "As Jenna's rescue is well underway, it's time for you to uphold your end of our bargain."

I couldn't stop myself from stiffening and clenching my hands if I tried. Anxiety made my heart pound faster as I waited for Malamar's main body to glow.

"You'll have to move back a ways," he said after he moved to hover over the cliff.

I narrowed my eyes in suspicion as I followed his movements. "Why?"

He narrowed his own eyes and replied irritably; "You know very well my hypnosis powers are pathetically weak! Even if you are willing."

"That doesn't answer my question," I said tightly.

His eye twitched at my deliberate use of a contraction before he explained: "Since that night in the laboratory, I have worked hard strengthening my hypnosis powers. I can now take over free minds, but only one at a time. However, to take over those minds, they'd have to be standing in front of me at a distance."

Still tense, I moved back as he said.

"More," he said as he waved for me to move. I moved back a few more feet.

"Still more." He seemed to be looking at something behind me. I ignored my screaming instincts and continued to move back another two feet.

"Just a liiiiiittle bit more."

"This is getting ridiculous," I muttered under my breath as I moved back again. And kept moving this time.

"THERE!" Malamar shouted.

The chains suddenly disappeared as I was surrounded by a light display that quickly formed into a cube. I banged my fists against the walls as the three Beheeyem and Malamar stood in front of me.

"What is the meaning of this!" I demanded as I pounded on the walls.

"A change of plan," was Malamar's simple reply as Mismagius, the children, and the other two Beheeyem appeared. And to my complete and utter shock, Guild Master Rotom.

"My most sincere apologies, King Darkrai," Master Rotom began as he respectfully bowed. "But I was asked to make this prison for you. Not by them!" he hastily added as he pointed to Malamar and company. "But by Lady Munna, herself. You can't break out and no one, not even Darkness, can break in."

It was then that young Elgyem stepped forward. "You should know, Your Majesty," he began. "That Cresselia has been shielding you from Darkness ever since you all got here; to this world I mean."
