(Jenna)

We were at New World Island's cemetery, laying flowers at Gran-Gran's familial gravestone. Beside her name was Shane's, and beneath both of theirs was Grandma Jenna's. Sadly, my brother and I learned that our dad's father, Jacob Kigai, had been cremated along with Grandma Jenna's, and their ashes were scattered. Only their names were on the gravestone next to Gran-Gran's and Shane's.

Seven years had passed since our adventure. Three weeks since Gran-Gran's passing. Four years since Jake and Melody got married and had their twins: a boy and a girl. Just so you know, their names are Shane and Zora. (And my niece shows every sign of being able to understand what Pokémon are saying, just like me.)

Jake took over as construction manager after Grandfather retired, while Melody runs both a human and Pokémon Daycare Center.

Crystal and Ben got married right after graduating from the academy and, up until recently, had been a traveling theater troupe. (They stopped because their first baby is due in a few weeks, and Ben doesn't want Crystal to overtax herself traveling around.)

Dad became the new headmaster at New World Academy three years ago after Gran-Gran officially retired. Mom became the Vice Principal while Hannah became the Guidance Counselor. (She had transferred to New World Academy after she learned Jake was going to be a dad.)

Grandma and Grandfather now spend their days either island-hopping or helping Pokémon Centers with their injured charges.

Red, Cyril, and Diane became Pokémon Rangers; if you can believe it! I secretly help them out from time to time as a Pokémon translator.

Caleb and Jaxon became Trainers and have been traveling about the regions, entering every league. When last I heard, Caleb made it to the top eight in the Johto League while Jaxon made it all the way to the semi-finals in the Indigo League. And now both of them are entering the Island League, our league, which was created sometime after the success of Alola's league.

As for Jack and I, the two of us got married two years ago. We had our baby daughter, Rynne, just a few days before Gran-Gran's passing. (My daughter was the last great-great-grandchild she got to hold.)

The Sinis Trio, from what I've heard, were still in a high-security prison; I visited them only once. They were more grateful to be alive after whatever Darkrai did to them than upset at being behind bars for the next several decades without parole.

Kontororu was deemed mentally unfit to stand trial and was sentenced to an asylum. Until one night, he became a living vegetable with a semi-active brain and was put on life support. Two years later, a power outage occurred during a fierce storm and killed him. My secret background checks revealed that he was an only child, had no cousins or living relatives, and had never fathered a child. All of his students shared the same opinion of him that I do, so I don't have to worry about anyone taking revenge on me or my family.

To my knowledge, Malamar has remained the partner Pokémon of Officer Jenny's youngest sister. (That was something I never expected.) When I last heard, they had become part of the International Police and were undercover somewhere in the Galar region.

Marshadow has remained by my side, and Mismagius stayed by Gran-Gran's side until her death; now she guards her and Shane's grave.

The dying rays of the setting sun hit the gravestone, making the recently polished plaques shine; the shine struck little Rynne in the eyes. Since she had been falling asleep, the light woke her up, and she started crying.
