The other girls were already gone but Rose waited up for me. I know I was about to get scolded by her.
"What the hell? When did this happen?" She asked as she stood.
"It just sort of happened," I said, not fully lying. I had to act. No one could know this was a hoax, not even my best friend.
"You could have told me you were dating my lover," she whined. I rolled my eyes.
"Stop being dramatic," I shoved her off of me. I quickly changed into my cocktail dress. She pouted and sat on the bench.
"Are you ready yet?" She asked. I slipped my feet into my heels and passed her to head out of the locker room. "Hey! This is a big deal! You just met him and you're dating and living with him!" She ranted as she followed after me. I stopped suddenly and turned, shushing her.
"Can you keep your voice down? No one knows we're living together," I glared. She rolled her eyes.
"You move fast but I guess Louis Iso has that effect on people," Rose said, passing me. I wanted to scream that I wasn't interested in him at all but the damage had already been done. I grunted and stomped my foot childishly when she was out of view.
"What are you so mad about?" I heard Louis' voice. My hands balled into fists as I took a deep breath.
"You. I'm made at you," I said as I turned to face him. "What exactly are you after by doing this?" I asked. He smirked and stuck his hands in his slack pockets.
"I'm not after anything. I'm just trying to protect you," he admitted.
"Protect me? You must be delusional. The biggest threat to me right now is you," I yelled at him. He took hold of my arm and pulled me closer to him. I was stunned silent by the sheer force behind his eyes.
"Although that's somewhat true, you have nothing to fear from me. I don't want to hurt you, so I won't. I have that much self-control," he said before he walked past me. I was still standing there staring after him like an idiot. I tried to shake it off and get ready for the night. I walked into the floor and made my way up to the VIP area. I stood aside and waited.
Not even an hour later, the club was packed. I stood aside, assisting the customers and grabbing drinks for them as the night went on. Rose and I were in different sections. Of course, when Louis surfaced, he came to sit in my section.
"What can I get for you, Mr. Iso?" I asked professionally. He chuckled as he sat next to another VIP.
"You're still mad at me?" He asked over the music.
"You've has quite a productive day. You must be thirsty," I ignored his question. Louis grabbed my hand and brought me closer to him.
"Don't be mad, Megan," he said sweetly.
"This your girl?" The VIP asked Louis. Louis only smirked.
"Drake, this is Megan, my girlfriend," he introduced me. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes.
"Louis, I've known you for years and you've never had a serious girlfriend. Girls, yes, but never a girlfriend. Is she really your girlfriend or one of your girls," Drake chuckled. Louis only smirked at him.
"Habits can change," Louis said vaguely.
"Not overnight," Drake countered. I wasn't surprised that Louis was a playboy. I actually expected it, but I kept my mouth shut about it. It was none of my business anyway.
"I'll go grab some drinks for the two of you," I said, dismissing myself. I worked quietly the entire night and tried not to draw too much attention to myself. It was 2 am before the club finally closed and I was finally able to relax. After cleaning up, I took the elevator to the third floor, finally going home. Louis was already on the couch in nothing but basketball shorts, watching TV.
"Oh hey, so how was your first night?" He asked. I rolled my eyes and stepped out of my heels.
"I served you all night, you should know," I answered as I went to stand in front of him. I placed my hands on my hips with a sigh.
"Oh come on, Megan, think of it like acting. If you can do this, you can do just about anything," he said.
"But do you have to flaunt me around like that?" I asked as I sat on the couch next to him. He chuckled.
"I very much do. If I don't, someone else would try to take you, and that's my reputation on the line," he answered.
"What about what Drake said; your girls? What about my reputation?" I countered. He leaned in and placed a curled finger under my chin.
"I won't do anything to make you lose face. You have nothing to worry about," he said softly. My heart went into overdrive at his close proximity.
"C-Can I have some space?" I asked timidly. He smirked before letting go of my chin. I stood quickly and went to my room to change out of my cocktail dress. I took a quick shower before changing into some pajamas. It was already 3:30 am. I went to the kitchen for a cup of tea before bed.
"Hey, make me one?" He asked. I sighed before pulling his mug down as well. I waited with the teapot on the stove.
"What are you thinking?" He asked and he leaned on the counter next to me.
"This has gotten extremely complicated," I admitted. He chuckled.
"Mundane lives are boring. That's not how you become a star," he replied. I snapped out of it when the teapot started to whistle.
"There's a premiere this weekend. You have to go with me," Louis said as I poured the water into the mugs. I was so caught off guard that I spilled some of the boiling water on my hand. I yelped and set the teapot down quickly. Louis grabbed my burned hand quickly.
"Stay still," he said as he held my shaking hand. It hurt so badly. I thought he would run cold water over it or something, but instead, he brought my hand up to kiss it. His lips lingered in my hand for a moment before he gave me a small smile. My hand didn't hurt anymore. Looking at it, you would never be able to tell that I'd just been scalded. It wasn't even red. I didn't even have time to cry from the pain.
"H-How did you..." I tried to ask. He scoffed before rolling his eyes.
"Hello... Devil," he said pointing to himself. Up to this point, I still hadn't been convinced. My brain felt overwhelmed as I tried to process what he just did.
"You... how?"I said softly before the room started turning dark.
