I hated to admit it but I felt better after my romp with Luci. I stretched before I sat up, moving my hair out of my face. Luci was in the bathroom while I was trying to figure out my life.

Now I remember how I got pregnant.

Automatically, my hand went to where our baby was supposed to be. I still didn't feel like I thought you would if you were pregnant. If anything, I just felt sick at times and tired all the time. Luci came out of the bathroom and chuckled at me just sitting there.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"Absolutely nothing," I said as I laid back down. Luci sat next to me and just watched me. I turned my head to look at him and smiled softly.

"What?" He asked. My smile only got bigger.

"Nothing, I just... I love you," I replied. Luci leaned over and kissed me gently.

"We can relax here today. I have some paperwork to go over for the clubs anyway. Tomorrow, we'll set up the interviews for after the engagement party," he said before heading out to the living room. Our engagement party was dated to be held next week. The party planner was working on getting the invitations out now. Luci made sure that the biggest names in Hollywood and even some reporters were invited. It was a show after all. I sighed and sat up before burying my face in my hands.

It was a show.

I know Luci said that pieces of paper didn't matter to him, but I couldn't help but feel that this was still all a show. It's my fault, for the way we started: as a show.

I sighed as I shook the thought away. Luci loved me for me, regardless of how we started. And I loved him.

Me. Who thought that I had given up of guys for the time being, fell in love with the Devil.

I took a shower to clear my head before dressing in a pair of pajamas. I went out to find Luci sitting at the bar reading over his paperwork. I stood behind him and placed my hands on his shoulders with a light squeeze.

"Where will I go when I die?" I asked. He was so caught off guard that his papers fell from his hand.

"I already told you, Meg-"

"I know, but say I do. What happens to me?" I asked. He sighed before turning to look at me.

"Technically you become a soul. You'll go to heaven, and I would never see you again," he explained.

"Couldn't you bring me to hell," I asked. He stared at me in confusion and wonderment.

"You don't want to go, trust me. Plus, as you can see, I'm hardly ever there myself. It's a system that kind of runs itself. I'm just the ruler in name for an authority figure, and a glorified soul hunter. My only job is making sure no one escapes, or returning them if they do," he said. I nodded in thought.

"So I have to live or I lose you," I said out loud. He nodded.

"Where is this coming from?" He asked. I shrugged.

"I was just thinking about the 'what ifs'," I answered. He sighed and pulled me around so I was standing between his legs.

"There are two ways to make someone a Nephilim. One way, you already know. The other way is the blood of an angel. No matter how close to death you are, enough angel blood can cure you and turn you into a Nephilim if we're fast enough. Basically an Earthbound angel. When you give birth, I plan on giving you my blood: however much it takes," he said confidently.

"You'll be bringing me back from the dead. Won't that take a lot of your blood? Couldn't you die?" I asked. He sighed before he nodded hesitantly.

"I could, but all I need is an ounce of blood to revive myself. I plan on saving some beforehand. I'll still be weak and it'll take a couple of days to recoup, but you'll be alive," he explained. His plan was insane. He was planning on essentially killing himself to keep me alive.

"Why? Why would you do that to yourself?" I asked confused. He smiled before kissing me gently.

"Isn't it obvious?" He replied, not exactly answering my question. But I understood what he was trying to say. He would do it because he loved me, and he would do what he had to do to keep me alive.

"That is the dumbest plan I've ever heard... but it just might work," we heard from the center of the living room. Luci sighed as his hands fell away from my waist.

"At least you waited before arriving this time," Luci said before he looked towards where Michael was standing.

"You're welcome," Michael smirked. My cheeks felt hot with embarrassment.

"What now?" Luci asked as he stood and walked closer to his brother.

"Is that really your plan? You're going to kill yourself for your human?" Michael asked. Luci nodded. Michael sighed before shaking his head.

"We got other issues at the moment. The supernatural creatures are in disarray. More and more of them are finding out about Megan from the fallen angels. They're under the impression that she's carrying the anti-Christ, so they want to kill both of them," Michael explained.

"I what now?" I blurted as I took a step forward. Michael's eyes switched to mine.

"You're not. Your child is just a Nephilim, but because it's Lucifer's child, that's the rumor the fallen angels are spreading to the others. Angels were banned from making Nephilims a long time ago, but they feel that Lucifer does whatever he wants and it's unfair. They want revenge," Michael clarified. I sighed and rolled my eyes.

So they wanted to intentionally make me a target? How sick.

"Aren't you worried too. Why are you helping us?" Luci asked him. He sighed and uncrossed his arms.

"Am I against your relationship? Yes. But this witch hunt is causing a disruption in the heavens and on Earth. Plus, you've always had the short end of the stick our entire lives. Posted as the evil one when you're just doing your job. I'm helping to make the stick a little longer. No matter the circumstances, Father wouldn't want this. You're actually his favorite, you know," Michael explained.

So Michael was on our side now...
