The next morning, I went through my morning bathroom routine slowly to bide some time. I could hear Louis moving around in the living room or kitchen and I was nervous to face him after last night. I sighed and gathered myself before walking out cautiously. Louis smiled and set breakfast on the bar.

"You cooked?"I asked, thrown off. He smirked.

"It can get boring going out all the time. Plus, you just walked the red carpet for the first time yesterday. Any place we went would be swamped shortly after arriving," he said. And I hated to say it, but everything he said made sense. I thanked him quietly before I toyed with the food.

"What are you thinking right now?" He asked.

"Whether or not to bring up last night," I answered honestly. I wanted to bite my tongue. I'd gotten so used to telling the truth after that question that I forgot to filter myself this time. He stopped and set his fork down.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," he apologized.

"Why did you flip so fast? And what way did I say your name that made you snap?" I asked. He stared at me dumbfounded.

"That's what you're referring to? You're talking about when I switched up on you and not the part where I ran off so fast, you're eyes couldn't keep up with me even if they wanted to. The part before I ran off at a blurred speed?"He asked rhetorically. He laughed and shook his head.

"You truly are the strangest human I've ever met," he laughed.

"Come on! I'm being serious," I said with a slight pout. He calmed down with a breath.

"Megan, you are a little temptress sometimes, you know? And last night... I don't know, maybe it has been a while," he explained. I sighed and took a bite of my breakfast.

"I didn't even do anything," I muttered under my breath. He was around the bar and standing in front of me in an instant.

"You don't have to do anything. And the fact that I can't read you makes it all the more interesting," he replied. His hand came up and touched my face gently. He leaned in until his face was centimeters from mine. I wanted to try it, just once. I closed the gap between us and met my lips with his. His lips were sweet like candy. Now I understood the phrase of 'tasting like sin itself'. My hands came up and wrapped themselves in his hair as I pulled him closer, wrapping my legs around his waist. His hand went to my lower back. I wanted to breath him in. I heard a tearing followed by a plate shattering which pulled me out of my trance. I opened my eyes and saw Louis looking right back at me, shocked. A bright glow led my eyes over Louis' shoulder.

His wings.

Louis' wings spread beyond him. The density of the feathers damn near filled the room. They were large and black in color.

"Luci," I breathed as I stared. The sight of them was making me emotional for some reason.

"Well this has never happened before," he muttered to himself, but I heard him anyway. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath as his wings retracted. That emotional feeling went with them.

"What just happened?" I asked, still slightly stunned.

"I got aroused and they just... popped out on their own," Louis explained hesitantly.

"And that normally happens?" I asked as a follow up question. He only shook his head.

"It's never happened," he said, not catching my hint. "How are you so different in so many ways?" He asked as his head tilted to examine me.

"I don't know," I answered timidly even though I knew he wasn't actually asking me. Louis' smirk came back.

"So I guess the 'no kissing' rule is out," he joked. I rolled my eyes and hopped off the bar. How could he even joke right now?

"Don't you see what this means? We definitely can't kiss in public now. If we do, and your wings pop out again, what will you do?" I asked. He stopped as his smirk fell.

"Shit, you're right. Fine... I'll just kiss you here," he said, his smirk returning. I put a hand against his chest as he advanced me.

"No, no more kissing. That was pure curiosity. This is an act, remember? The minute we break those rules, the line will start to blur," I said as I hopped off the bar stool and went to sit on the couch to put some space between us. Louis followed and sat beside me anyway.

"I have to know why you affect me the way you do. In order for that to happen, we need to test it," he said before I was flipped onto my back on the couch as Louis held a wrist in each hand. I gasped at the speed of it all. "Megan, I'm going to kiss you," he said softly. I hated to admit, but I wanted him to. He lowered his head to mine and touched my lips gently with his. He was hesitant. he started off gently this time. Almost instantly, a fire ignited in my belly. I wanted more. Louis seemed to finally be able to read my thoughts as he deepened the kiss. I heard a heavy whoosh before the little bit of light I could sense through my closed eyelids disappeared. Louis' lips trailed kisses down my neck before he began to suck on the sensitive skin. I felt my back arch slightly as I began gasping for air. I felt retained because Louis was still holding onto my wrists, but if I had the freedom to strip him down, I would've.

I wanted to tell him to stop or go further, I was torn, but I couldn't get a word out anyway. My brain was fuzzy and it felt like this was all a dream. His kisses slowed before he brought his lips back to mine. Seconds felt like eternity before he finally pulled away and my eyes opened. I was breathless, and so was Louis. His wings cocooned us on the couch. I stared at them in awe as Louis finally released my hands. Hesitantly, I reached out to touch one. Before my fingers could connect with the soft-looking feathers, they disappeared. My eyes went back to Louis' face. He was watching me intensely.

"You're more dangerous than I thought," he breathed softly. I didn't know what to do or how to take that. Louis sighed before he sat up and stood next to the couch. I sat up slowly, my head still spinning.

"What do you mean by dangerous?" I asked. He sighed and ran his hands down his face.

"I will try to restrain myself from now on," he said instead. "Try to think of what you want to sing tonight, and one of them has to be a duet. You just premiered yesterday. I'm expecting a lot more curiosity," he said before he walked normally to his room.

I was still trying to figure out what was going on.
