I woke to the feeling of soft kisses being placed along my back. I yawned tiredly with a small moan. I rolled over to my side and my eyes were immediately met with Louis. He smiled softly.

"Good morning," he whispered. I groaned before I snuggled deeper into his chest.

"Morning," I muttered. "Uh, I'm more exhausted than I was last night," I whined. Louis chuckled and kissed the top of my head gently.

"We don't have too much to do today. Just a club appearance tonight. You can rest if you want," Louis explained. I felt a smirk come to my face as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"I don't really want to rest. I'm okay with being exhausted," I hinted. He chuckled and kissed me gently.

"Rest. We have time for that later. You're performing tonight," he said. I sighed and let go of him.

"Fine," I gave up as I rolled to face away from him. Louis laughed as his hand traced my side.

"First you wouldn't even tolerate me and now I have to force you to sleep?" He joked. I felt myself smile as I rolled my eyes.

"If I give in, I'm giving all the way in," I said as I rolled onto my back to look at him. He moved to hover over me and brought his lips down to mine. I had to say, sex with Louis was something to behold. His dark wings added an otherworldly visual sensation. He definitely knew what he was doing. Louis froze with his lips on mine before he sat up, retracting his wings.

"Get dressed, someone's coming," he said quickly. He threw his pants on and I pulled my shirt on and began buttoning it up. The elevator dinged and I froze as I watched the person step into the loft. It was like watching a runway show in slow motion. The woman was tall, leggy, and drop dead gorgeous. She had chocolate brown hair with not a hair out of place. She was very skinny, and her skin was like glowing porcelain. She was wearing a very business-sexy black dress with a gray blazer over it.

"Sunni... what are you doing here?" Louis asked, trying to stand in front of the bed.

"I heard you were in town. I had to see you," she smiled at him as she started shedding her blazer.

"Don't-don't do that," Louis started.

"Oh? Who is she?" Sunni asked, peeking around Louis to look at me.

"This is Megan, my girlfriend," Louis said seriously. Sunni laughed and made herself comfortable in the couch while I sat in the middle of the bed gaping like a fish. It finally clicked in my head where I'd seen her before. She was a world renowned actress who started in South Korea and moved on to act in America. She was very popular.

"That's cute, Louis. No seriously, who is she? Your flavor of the week? Month, maybe?" She asked.

"Maybe I should come back later," I said hesitantly. Louis scoffed.

"Stay there," Louis said to me, keeping his eyes on Sunni. "Sunni, Megan is my girlfriend and I'm serious about her. We're exclusive. Abandon all your plans now. Megan is staying by my side," Louis said to her. Sunni uncrossed her legs and stood with a sigh.

"Fine... for now, but I'll just wait. I know you, Louis. You'll be back... eventually," she said before she headed to the elevator. "You have my number," she said before she got on the elevator. Everything about her was so graceful that I almost forgot that she was basically insulting me. Louis sighed and ran a hand down his face.

"Sorry about that," he apologized.

"Wait! So you could read her mind right? What was she thinking?" I asked curiously, completely forgetting about the incident already. Louis chuckled and shook his head. He rested his hands on the bed and kissed my check.

"You're so cute," he smirked before standing up straight again. "She was here to see if the rumors were true. She saw you before she acknowledged you, but she wanted to see how fragile our relationship was by messing with you. She was happy when you said you were going to leave, and disappointed when you eventually stayed because I told you to. Then she was even more curious about us because you seemed closer to me than she ever was," he explained. I smiled and moved to sit up on my knees.

"Well, I doubt she's met your brother or seen you in... rare form," I joked. He smirked.

"It's true, she hasn't. You know more about me than any human ever born. Plus, you're the only one who has seen these," he said as his wings flew out of his back, "and lived to tell about it."

I should've been threatened or scared of his words, but I wasn't. I was oddly comforted in what he said. I moved to the end of the bed as he came closer. As my arms wrapped around his neck, his wings went around me and his arms went around my waist. One of my hands trailed along the brim of his wing. The feathers shuddered under my touch. Louis chuckled.

"One day, I'll show you what it's like to fly," he said softly. I smiled and nodded.

"What should we sing tonight?" I asked. His smile turned into a smirk before his wings retracted.

"I meant to ask: why don't you do duets?" He asked. I sighed and let go of him as I sat back on my feet.

"When I was first realizing what I wanted to do with my life, I moved to California with my boyfriend at the time. He registered for college and I got to work on my resumé. One thing we shared was our love for music. We did little duet sets at odd places and coffee shops. But I wasn't the only person he had duets with. I didn't think too much of it at first, but he started coming home later, and singing with me less. Finally, One day, I caught him cheating on me with the other girl. He said that I wasn't good enough to progress, and that's why he chose her. After that, duets meant more than just singing to me," I explained. Louis sighed and cupped my face with his hands.

"He just didn't appreciate such a great thing. Don't let that stop you from doing what you want to do. You're the most amazing woman I have ever met, and that's really saying something," he said gently. I smiled lightly and nodded. Just hearing Louis say those words reassured me.

"Let's work out our set," I smiled.
