Two months passed faster than I thought it would. There were a few attempted attacks but they were weak. The supernatural creatures just didn't stand a chance against two elite angels. Other angels had yet to show up to try. From the looks of it, they were trying to get the other creatures to do their work for them. Luci was getting more nervous, meaning he spent less time at work these days. That wouldn't be good if I wanted to sneak away. Luckily, Michael figured something out with that. He claimed he found the perfect place.

"Megan, if you start feeling like you're going into labor, let me know okay?"Luci said suddenly as we were sitting on the couch. I sighed before I pulled him into a kiss. It was a long, passionate kiss that made his wings pop out. He looked at me confused when I finally pulled away.

"You know I love you, right?" I said softly. He touched my cheek gently as he searched my face.

"What's wrong?" He asked. I hugged him as best as I could with my protruding stomach and let out a breath.

"I'm just scared I might lose you," I answered honestly. One of us could die, depending on if my plan with Michael worked. Luci rubbed my back gently as his wings retreated.

"We're going to be fine. I promise," he said. I felt the first of my tears fall. I sniffles and sat up before wiping the tears from my face.

"You don't have to worry so much about me. Michael is doing a good job of protecting me and you should tidy up loose ends at your clubs before my labor. I don't know how long it'll take to recover," I said.

"I don't care about that right now. I want to make sure I'm with you," he countered.

"I'll be fine. And Ill call if anything happens. I don't want your business to suffer because of me," I said. He hesitated before he finally nodded.

"I'll go back tomorrow. But I won't leave town to check on the others until after you've given birth," he said. I nodded in agreement.

"I'm going to lay down. I'm getting tired," I said as I pushed myself to a standing position. Luci held onto my arm and helped me get in the bed. I laid on my side as Luci pulled the covers over me. I felt bad for my plan to betray him but it was for his own good. No human should've been worth the life of an angel.

I woke to the sound of screeching. The house seemed to be covered in smoke. I coughed as I sat up confused. Was the house on fire? Panic began to set in as I got out of the bed and out of the room.

"Michael? Luci?" I called out. I ducked my head low and felt my way to the stairs. It was dark and clouded. The fumes were heavy. I couldn't stop the coughs that racked my body. Could this be another attack? I felt a hand on my shoulder and jumped back in fear. Turning, I made out Michael's face.

"We need to go. The angels finally made their move. Lucifer is holding them off out front, but they managed to set fire to the house," Michael explained.

"How do I know it's really you," I asked warily.

"That place is ready for you," he said as his wings extended. I nodded once as he cradled me in his arms. He ran through the back before he kept into the sky. We went higher than I ever did with Luci as Michael flew off. His face was set in a scowl as he looked forward.

"Michael," I started before I gasped. I was falling. Looking up, I could see that something had grabbed Michael, and now I was falling to my death. If that wasn't bad enough, the sudden shock of falling made my water break. Michael fought off the angel before he bullet dove towards me. His arms came back under me and stopped my fall. I panted as my hands gripped his shoulders.

"Megan, are you alright?" He asked worried. A painful cramping began in my stomach as I winced.

"I'm pretty sure my water just broke," I said truthfully. Michael's eyes widened before he raced off.

"Don't worry. We're not far," he said after another contraction hit me. Finally we descended and his wings disappeared as he walked towards a large building.

"A hospital?" I asked curiously.

"It's the safest place for you. Lucifer can't interfere in front of humans. No angel can," Michael explained. "I would just have to keep an eye out for other supernaturals which is a lot easier," he added. Michael walked into the hospital and to the front desk.

"My wife went into labor as our house caught fire. We'll be needing some assistance," Michael said calmly. A gurney came out to take me back as Michael trailed alongside it. I was rolled into a room and transferred to a different bed as doctors and nurses bustled around me. Michael kept calm as he went to wash his hands and arms. When he came back, Michael started calling the shots. The doctors and nurses watched him confused but did as he said anyway. Another contraction hit me and I felt like pushing but I held back. Michael got my underwear off of me and lifted my nightgown to put a hand on my stomach.

"If you feel like pushing, push Megan," he said as my feet were placed in stirrups. I groaned as another contraction forced me to push anyway. Michael put on gloves as he got to work.

"A doctor needs to be handling this," a nurse said from beside Michael.

"I am a doctor," he replied back to her all the while never taking his eyes off of me. "She's crowning. A few more pushes, Megan," Michael said. When the next contraction hit I heated down and pushed as hard as I could. I painted before pushing again.

"We've get the head. Just one more push," Michael said with a small smile on his face as he worked below my hips. I took a few deep breaths before doing as he said. I felt a large pressure release ask Michael stood with Amelia in his hands.

"You did it Megan," he said as he placed her on my chest gently before cutting the umbilical cord. He rubbed his fingers on her chest in circles before she finally began to cry.

"She's 36 weeks, but the baby seems to be doing fine. Get an adult crash cart and two bags of O positive ready," Michael instructed.

"Mother and baby seem to be doing fine," a doctor nearby argued. I suddenly felt lightheaded as I felt another gush between my legs.

"Is that blood?" A nurse asked in shock.

"We don't have much time. Go now," Michael ordered. Breathing became harder to do as my eyelids began to feel heavy. I knew what was coming next. Michael could pretend to save me all he wanted, but I knew better than to hope. I cranked my head to look at my daughter. With her cute little face, button nose, warm brown eyes and head full of black hair, I wanted to at least see her once before I died. Hopefully Luci and Michael could give her a good life. Hopefully, this could finally all be over.

"Megan!" Luci's voice touched my ears before I finally let go.
