I sat on my couch, bare legs on the cushions, blanket in my lap, tea steaming from the coffee table.
I pushed my glasses up the bridge of my nose. My mom's old journal was sat on the blanket. I didn't want to start the new journal until I had the other one finished.
My moms writing littered the page. The writing seemed much more relaxed, calm. I ran my finger over the pages, feeling how hard she was pressing down on the pen when she was writing.
I searched high and low for any entry that talked about g+g. Betty told me she was talking to Kevin, Josie, and Reggie about their parents.
It rained outside, the rain hitting my metal roof. I flipped the page and read some writing.
"Hermione told me Alice was pregnant with FP's baby, not going to lie, not my issue."
I felt like I was getting closer.
"I don't have detention, but I'm going to show up, they can't stop me. If my friends are there, so am I."
The entry ended and another one began. I scanned the page for anything for that indicated g and g or the midnight club.
Betty helped Veronica sneak Archie out of state pen. I think what gets me the most about this whole situation is the whole layout of it, they risked everyone for Archie.
I leaned my head back closing my eyes. My mind was in shambles. I had a paper due tomorrow that wasn't even started, I was tired, and I couldn't get over Sabrina's visit.
Not in a bad way or anything, just like, I didn't know, how to wrap my mind around anything that had to do with Sabrina's powers.
The way she kept implying that I had some. My mom and her mom were cousins, Sabrina's dad was a witch, making Sabrina a half blood.
I watched as the rain poured next to my sliding door. The water hitting the glass. A knock came at my door, jarring me from the stare at the glass.
I stood from the couch, walking to the door, unlocking it and opening it. Betty Cooper stood in front of me, I moved aside to let her in.
"I think the time is coming where I want you to evaluate my mom and sister."
"Ok just give me a time and date and I'll be set."
"Did you hear about what happened to Reggie when he asked his dad about G and G?"
"No, what happened?"
"His dad gave him a black eye."
I leaned my hands on the counter top.
"Do you want some hot coco or tea?""Coco, should be fine."
I took a mug from the shelve, filling it with hot water.
"Did you find anything in your mom's journal?"
"No, not yet, just small things like your mom being pregnant"
"Jughead has all the serpents playing g and g and scared."
"The way you described it to me, you probably should be, people are dying because of this game."
I finished mixing the hot coco into the water, walking over to where Betty sat on the couch.
"Have you talked to Sweet Pea?"
"No, Mina, I think you need to talk to him the issue isn't going to be resolved if you don't fix it."
"He just seems to treat me different. Like we never had a friendship, Josie really just came in and messed everything up."
Betty drank off the coco, her phone ringing from in her pocket. She turned to me, signalling me to be quiet, which I did, out of respect.
"Oh, yeah mom, I'm just at Mina's."
"Oh my god."
"I'm on my way."She hung up the phone, pulling herself off the couch.
"I really have to go, I'll keep in touch."
She shrugged her jacket up over her shoulders, rushing out the door.
I listened to the door slam shut before deciding Betty was right. I walked to my room and put on leggings and a long sleeve shirt.
I put on socks with a pair of Nike's and grabbed my keys to the truck. I locked my door behind me, making a mad dash to my truck that was parked in the driveway.
I slid onto the bench and put the keys into the ignition. I started the truck and turned on the heater before pulling out onto the road.
The serpents were camped out down by Sweet water. I drove as fast as I could without getting pulled over. I turned onto the road that lead to the river.
I rubbed my hands up and down my leggings before putting them back on the wheel.
I pulled up next to the Jones' trailer and parked the truck. Sweet Pea and Fangs were sat next to the fire, drinking a beer. It wasn't rainy over here like it was back in town, it almost didn't make sense.
I took my keys from the ignition and got out of my truck.
"Well hello Mina, what can we do for you?"
"I need to talk to Sweet Pea."
It snapped in Fang's head what was happening and got up and left. I sta down in the spot next to Pea.
"What do you want, Mina?"
"I want to talk."
"Well, we're talking, you can leave."
"Damnit Pea, you know what I want to talk about. You're not drunk and you're sure in the hell not stupid."
"Do you want a apology? Do you want me to admit that what I did was wrong? Tell me what you want and I can make you're wish a realty ."
"I think you and I both know what the fuck I want, I want you could tell me why. I want to know what the fuck I did wrong that made you leave."
"Like you would understand if I expressed it to you. Like you'd care."
"Oh fucking hell, try me, help me understand Pea, because I want to."
