The day contiued on, I didn't feel safe anymore. Sweet Pea woke and wanted to go get dinner, which I agreed.

I sat on the passager side as he drove, the rain still hitting the windshield. We pulled into a diner next to a row of motels.

I followed Sweet Pea inside, to a back corner booth. Sweet Pea mentioned something about getting menus. I dismissed him as I thought.

A body slid next to mine, I looked up.
A boy sat next to me, not Sweet Pea.
"Can I help you?"

The boy turned his attention towards me.
"Yeah. Do you know Mac Cara? He's looking for a girl that looks exactly like you."

"No, I don't know him. I'm sor-."
"Malachi, what the hell?"

"Oh so she's your girl? This is getting even better. I bet your names Mina." He said pointing his finger at me.

He stood from the seat, Sweet Pea's gaze following him.

"Watch your slut, Mac will find her and she will have serpent blood on her hands."

Malachi walked back to the booth in front of us. The bell by the cash register echoed.

He grabbed his friends and walked out the door, the bell above chiming.

The waitress came with water and menus. I sipped my water as Sweet Pea thanked her.

I decided what I was going to order while Sweet Pea looked.

The waitress came back maybe ten minutes later.

"We'll have to grilled cheeses to go."

The waitress nodded.

"What was that for?"
"You're shaken up, we're not staying."

Once the orders were ready, We stood walking towards the cash register. Sweet Pea pulled out his wallet and payed while I grabbed the bag.

We walked to the truck, getting in and getting out of the parking lot.

"I've only known you for a few days and I can already read you. Stop worrying. Whatever happens won't be your fault. We'll all be behind you."

"Thank you Pea."

He smiled at me before turning his attention back to the road. Little did we all know that in less than 24 hours hell would strike.

We got to the cabin and ate, Sweet Pea fell into a deep sleep while I read some more.

I read until I couldn't read anymore. Until my eyes ached from my glasses.

I woke up, head on Sweet Pea's lap as his head was craned over the back of the couch. I slowly pulled myself up. Lightly moving his upper half onto the couch, than his legs.

The journal laid on the coffee table looking up at me as well as my phone. I reached for it as Sweet Pea's rung.

I jumped back watching him grab it and answering the call.

"Really? Now?"
"Shit, yeah, I'm on my way."

He hung up, jumping off the couch, almost knocking me over in the process.

"Mina, come help me get my bike out of the bed." I slipped my boots on my feet, following him to my truck. He opened up the bed and I grabbed the ramp.

He hoped in the bed and backed his bike down the ramp.

"Mina, I have to go, don't try anything."

I couldn't get a word out before he started his bike and zoomed off. I slowly pulled the ramp into the truck again, locking the tailgate.

I walked inside, slipping off my boots, padding to the coffee table. I grabbed my phone, unlocking it.
