Betty and Veronica left. Days went on, I isolated myself within my walls of my house, only leaving for school.
I read the books Sabrina sent, i typed some work out I needed to turn in, either to the register or for school.
Everyone in Riverdale has been tripping. Apparently, Josie and Reggie are screwing around again. It was just another day in Riverdale.
"Mina hunny, I need you to go interview mayor lodge for the new article on the deaths."
I nodded following behind Betty, out of the room.
"So what have you been up to?"
"School, work. You?"
"Still trying to get to the bottom of the murders."I nodded, Betty and I walked to the cafe on the corner. It was small and always empty.
"How's the gang?"
"They miss you, Cheryl and Toni probably miss you the most."I nodded, the bell to the door rang above us as we walked in. The barista, Bria, started to make our usual drinks.
"Run me through a list of people you have, dead and alive."
"Dilton, Ben, Warden, Ethel, FP, Penelope, Hiram, Hermione, Fred, Tom, Sierra, Featherhead, Reggies Dad, Diltons dad, Jughead and the serpents.""Betty don't say "Jughead and the seprents." you know they'll be fine."
Bria came by with our drinks.
"So did you find anything?"
"Yes, I did, Featherhead had the same markings as Dilton And Ben. I also found that the room under the stairs of the school, where Featherhead was found, that the room was covered in the same markings.""Maybe we can look under the stairs to see if the markings are still there or if we could feel them craved in the walls."
"Yeah, maybe we could go after my shift at the register. You could invite Jughead and the serpents."
"I'll ask. See what they have planned. So what have you been working on?"
"I've been reading on split personality disorders for my physiology class."
"Oh, cool, I'll pay for our drinks, I'll head out right behind you."
"Thank you, Betty, I'll see you later."I grabbed my bag, sliding it over my shoulders. I waved to Betty and Bria as I left out the door.
The past week has been hectic. My dad as been oddly silent, ignoring calls, refusing to see me for too long. Joaquin's dead, due to an apparent sacrifice needing to be made.
I walked to 'The Register' again, needing to get work done before we went into the school. We've been thanksgiving break for a few days, thanksgiving only just passing a few days ago.
I walked to my desk, that was placed in the back, adjacent to Betty's. I slid my backpack off, unzipping the zipper and grabbing my laptop and notebook.
I set everything down, sitting in the chair. My laptop powered on while I opened my notebook.
My phone dinged in my pocket, I pulled out, looking at the notification.
Betty
Have you heard from Jug?I responded with a quick no, and set my phone on the desk. I opened my Google doc on my physiology homework.
"Spliting Personality"
We've been study split personality disorder in class, assigned to do essays on what we know and how split disorders can be a burden on people's lives that suffer with the disorder.
The movie "Split", shows how horrible disorder can be, the man in the movie, had 23 spilt personalities. It shows that this disorder is not a walk in the park.
My phone dinged again from the desk. I moved my hands from my keyboard, over to my phone, picking it up.
Betty
The serpents haven't seen him in while. I looked in the bunker and I can't find Archie, I think he's with Jughead, wherever he is.I texted back, replying with a quick, "Give me a minute, meet me at his trailer.", before saving my work and powering everything down.
I packed up my things, rushing to my truck. I started it up, driving as fast as I could to Sweetwater. My mind was running, I didn't know what to do.
I turned onto the gravel road, slowing down speed. Veronica's car was parked next to the boys bikes.
I parked quickly, unbuckling my belt, and finally walking up the Jones stairs. I heard talking inside, opening the door.
Everyone was surrounded in the living room. Betty and Veronica sat next to Cheryl and Toni. Fred, Alice, and FP were pacing the living room.
I watched at the door, the madness unfold.
"What's happening?"
"You guys snuck Archie out of prison? Do you all know how much trouble you'll all be in. Then you all knew and kept it to yourselves."We all were silent. It was more like no one knew what to say or do, nothing would make this situation better.
"Does anyone know where they would've gone? Was it mentioned to anyone?"
A large amount of us shook our heads no. If we knew they wanted to skip town, they wouldn't have said anything.
"If we all split up we could cover more ground. We should look at train and buses, that would've been their main source of transportation."
People nodded, some standing up, others staying sitting.
"Betty, you're not going anywhere."
Alice said to Betty, who was stood up, walking towards the door. I turned to walk out the door when FP started to talk.
"Mina, you're not going either." I looked back at him, Fred, and Alice. Fred nodded to agree with FP.
I didn't argue, I sat down on the couch next to Betty, who surprisingly didn't argue with her mother about the situation.
Everyone except the parents and Betty and I left out of the trailer. I crossed my arms and watched as the door opened and closed.
