Archie never came around and then bughead split. Everyone around me seemed to be withering far from me, but not Pea.

I watched Pea from the kitchen as I made lunch. He was hunched over the coffee table. Today was one of his two days off during the week, and he sat still working.

Washing my hands off, I walked towards him. I rubbed his back, before leaning onto him. His hand went to my swollen middle region.

4 months in and we were waiting for the appointment. We wanted to have the gender reveal party with everyone, but no one seemed to be left.

"Little peanuts getting so big." He said, looking up at me. I smiled towards him as I sat onto the couch, resting my head onto his back.

"What are you doing babes." I already knew the answer. Pea and I were taking a few college classes during the summer before school started to further our college education.

I had finished mine, work came slow around town, leaving me nothing other than school to do. I had to wait for work to come to me, making our money limited.

Speaking of, I needed to go pay rent tomorrow. I've been making Pea go after work for the past four months, because of the pregnancy.

My mind scattered all over the place while as I caught sight of my ring.
The ring sparkled from my ring finger, making itself known.

I sighed, and left from the couch, going to get the salad. I prepared Pea's salad first, croutons, cheese, bacon, and ranch dressing.

Then mine, I repeated the same order, but finshing with cucumber dressing. Then, I brought the bowls out into the living room.

I placed Pea's down, before sitting back down next to him.

"Put your feet up baby doll." Pea said, grabbing his bowl before leaning back onto the couch.

I slowly put my legs up, resting my feet onto the coffee table. Eating my salad, I sighed in content. What can I say? Eating for two.

His hand rested on my swollen tummy for a mintue, before continuing to eat. My bowl sat on my stomach as well, being a table.

"You paying the rent tomorrow?"
"Yes, of course."

The doorbell rang through the house, allowing me to stand up and waddle to the door.

Opening the door, Ms.McDain stood.
"I decided that where I was in town I would come and collect the rent but I totally forgot to call. I'm sorry dear."

"Thats fine, I have the rent money, let me go get it." As I turned around, I knocked into Pea.

"Sorry hunny, Ms.McDain here is your money." Pea said reaching over my shoulder to hand the small lady the money.

"Thank you so much, say, I didn't know you two were expecting."
I rested in Pea's arms as he talked to our landlord.

"We're also engaged." Pea said smiling.
"Do you guys know what you are carrying?" She asked kindly.

"No, we'll find out at the next appointment." She nodded before talking again.

"I have a crib from my children. None of my kids wanted it when they started their own family, would you guys want it?"

"If it isn't a hassle for you, of course." She shook us off before mentioning that she'd get Peter to get it.

She thanked us before leaving.
Pea walked me back to the couch before he scurried off.

"Pea? Where are you going?"
"I have to get something."

His sock clad feet padded against the floor as he ran to our room. I sat on the couch, confused.

He padded back, sitting down next to me, making the couch dip. He held something behind his back, making eye contact with me.

"What do you have, Pea?"
"I got you something after work yesterday."

He pulled it from his back, placing it in my hands. A small black leather journal sat staring back up at me.

"What's this for?"
"Just a gift from me to you, maybe you can start your own journals for our little one."

I looked at him, blinking slowly, before nodding.

"Oh shit, not saying you're going to die or anything. I figured you'll be there to give it to them."

I cracked a smile, before giving him a hug.

"This is perfect. Thank you so much. I love it and I love you."
"I love you too."

The wrapping around it crinkled in my hands. I placed it onto the table, before grabbing the bowls.

The kitchen window allowed light to shine through the room, no need to turn on the lights.

I rinsed the bowls, placing them in the dish washer. Sweet Pea steadily worked on what was in front of him.

His muscles flexed as he wrote and flipped through books, he was a true blessing.

"Stop staring at me creeper."
"I'm sorry."

The hum of the dishwasher played a soundtrack as it washed the dishes, allowing this to be the only noise in the room.

My phone rang from the counter, alerting. I looked down to see Cheryl's number displayed on the screen. I picked up the phone, answering.

"Hello Bestie." Cheryl's voice rang through the phone speaker.
"Hey Cheryl. What can I do for you?"

Sighs and crinkles came from the other side, before Cheryl talked.

"I was wondering if Pea and you would be interested in coming over for a picnic?"

Before I had time to answer I heard Cheryl's voice again.

"Toni and I would really enjoy the company. I would've invited Betty, but she would've been cranky since her and Jug, y'know."

"Yeah, I do. I assume that would be fine. Would you mind texting me the information?"

"No, I would not. See you soon Bestie Girl."

I said my goodbyes before hanging up and placing the phone back onto the counter.

"What was that about?" Sweet Pea asked, splitting his attention between his work and I.

"Cheryl invited us over."
