I watched as he leaned back in the chair, before answering the question.

"No, you didn't, I guess time just got away from me." I nodded, looking back at the paper, I wasn't even sure what paper I was looking at.

"The Serpent Scandal"

Who writes things like this? Sticking there nose in other people's business.
I got up from the chair and shoved the paper back into the pile.

I crossed my arms and turned back to Sweets, who was smirking.

"Let's get out of here."
"And do what?"
"We could go to the river, of course not sweetwater."

I stared at him before telling him to shoot a text to Toni. We walked outside, pulling my ramp from the bed of the truck, putting his bike in the back, tying it down.

"Give me your keys."
"What? No? Why?"
"You don't know where it is."
"Fine."

I placed the keys in his hand walking to the passenger side, waiting for him to unlock the door.

"You know how to drive stick, right?"
"Of course I do."

I quickly nodded, buckling up. I placed my bag on the floor. He started the truck, pulling out of the spot.

I watched his face as he drove, he was attractive, had a good personality from what I saw.

"So Fangs was shot?" His jaw clenched before he nodded his head.
"Yeah, a few months ago." I nodded, knowing he was probably uncomfortable.

"To be honest, the police declared him dead." I turned to him, mouth slightly open.
"It's fine now, like he's clearly alive." I nodded slowly.

We drove down the empty road, Sweets picking up the speed. I smiled, he just put me in a better mood.

I let a laugh out as he did so, I watched a smile appear on his face. It was by far my favorite sight.

I placed my hand on his arm, slightly digging my nails into his soft skin. He looked at me as I did so. I pulled my hand away slowly.

"Did you read more in the journal?"
"Yeah, just about Mac and Monty putting her through hell."

He nodded.

"Do you have it?"
"Of course"
"Pull it out, I noticed something"

I picked my bag up off the floor board, opening it out and grabbing the journal.

"Turn the binding towards me."

I did as told, he looked over for a slim minute before telling me to look. I scanned it seeing a 1 carved into the binding.

"Holy shit"
"You know what this means right?"
"There's more than one."

He nodded as he drove. I moved my finger over it.

"Someone said something about you looking at houses to rent."
"Yeah, I am, I think I already made a decision."

He nodded at me before pulling over. I watched as he got out, me of course following.

It wasn't nearly as warm here as it was in town. I caught up to a standing Pea, a lake in front of us.

I pulled the straps of the romper off my arms, pulling it down my body. I tossed it onto the ground, my boots and socks following.

Pea continued after me. I rushed to the water diving in. It was now Pea's turn to catch up.

The water was surprisingly warm. Sweet's swam towards me as soon as he was in the water.
