Being home was a new adjustment. Everyone in Riverdale was dealing with their own mess, and time was ticking for everyone to find out who would be on the chopping block next.
The summer months made everything unbearable, but it was nice to be free from school and the day to day rat race.
I stirred the noddles as the heat bubbled in the house. The house had no heating and cooling, so we were forced to put in a small AC unit that did little to nothing.
Pea had the morning off, before having to leave at noon. Leaving me to play the housewife. We were to have guest tonight for dinner, when I was to announce the news of my pregnancy.
I worked hard, cleaning the house and making the house appear warm and welcoming.
After everything was done, I sat on the couch. My feet rested on the coffee table, my feet swollen to the size of small water balloons.
I picked up a home diy magazine, reading the nursery section, getting some idea's for the small human growing inside of me.
It's been 2 months, and I've done nothing but think about how the baby will affect Pea's and I's relationship. I guess I feel like I already have him pinned down.
My phone dinged on the coffee table, making me jolt. Sweet Pea's contact popped on screen with a text.
Pea
I have something for you when I get off work.I quickly texted back, expressing that I was every excited and happy for what he had.
I stood to the book cases, and scrolled down to the journals. We've been busy, and I assure you, we didn't really have time for it.
My fingers brushed the first one, landing onto the second. The pregnancy journal if you would.
I thumbed pages, not remembering where we had left off, or what I had last read.
The pages held so many words and knowledge my mom wanted to share.
Flipping through, a chicken recipe fell out following a recipe for pasta. Then, I knew what I was going to make for dinner.
Rushing around the house and talking note of what I had and what I needed, I was off to the store.
Browsing the isles for certain noodles and sauce, I watched my surroundings constantly. I was always in fear and knew that I needed to grow up sooner or later.
I wanted later but the world was shouting sooner.
Finally checking out and driving home. I organized everything based off dish I was making.
Luckily, Pea and I had a garden out back so I could toss together a salad as well.
I started with the chicken, seeing how it was already three and dinner was to be served at 6, with people arriving anywhere from 4 to 5.
The process was tiring and hard on the back. Shit hurts.
I allowed myself time to change my clothes before Sweet Pea came home. Opting for a loose sundress.
Pea came home shortly after, changing from his work clothes and picking veggies from the garden. I assured him I could do it, but he played it like he wanted to help.
After we brought in the vegetables and had washed them, people started to arrive.
Betty and Jughead had arrived first, following Archie and Veronica, and lastly Cheryl and Toni, and the twins. Sweet Pea greeted guest while I chopped vegetables from the garden.
