Sitting in the back seat of my mom’s van, I gaze out the window. The rising sun soars over the prodigious mountains, and the lanky trees sway softly, waltzing side to side to a serene song. The fluorescent green valleys of Colorado captivate me, bringing me a delightful essence of peace. I close my eyes, beginning to dream of being at the Olympics, winning the gold medal. As the victory anthem plays, I smile ever so brightly, knowing that I am first. However, the anthem begins to sound like a person yelling my name.
“Ella! Wake up!” My mom shouts, tugging on my arm.
“Wait...what? We’re here?”
“Yes! Now come on!” My mom hollers.
I climb out of the van and enter the tall, beige building that stands in front of me. The glowing words of “Blue Ridge Figure Skating Club” are in boldface on the top of the building. Whether if it is just the ride to the ice rink, or seeing the building; my heart always tells me that I made the best decision of my life to start skating when I was little.
