Just as I finish applying my mascara, I hear a loud knock at the door. I anxiously walk down the steps and open the door.
Adam is here. He’s standing up perfectly straight, his shoulders and legs aligned. His velvety, chocolate-brown hair is slicked back; and he has on a black button down shirt. He looks absolutely charming.
“Hey.”
“Hi. Are you excited for tonight?”
“Certainly. You ready to go?” Adam asks with enthusiasm.
“Wait, I should probably introduce you to my parents first. Mom and Dad, this is Adam.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Adam,” my parents say as they shake his hand.
“You too. What time would you like Ella home by?”
“8:45, please.”
“Alright. Have a good night.”
“Bye mom! Bye dad!” I yell as I burst through the door.
