Dean peered his head out of the kitchen. He'd just finished cleaning his breakfast mess when he heard what sounded like someone singing.

Sam had a shit voice and while Dean's wasn't terrible it wasn't as good as the voice he heard. Perhaps Sam left the radio on.

Dean followed the sound deeper into the bunker.

The sound was raw yet melodic. Dean didn't recognize the song but it was pretty.

He paused at the door of their supply room.

The voice inside wasn't coming from a radio, in fact there was no music other than the voice.

It was Cas.

Dean stood watching as the angel organized the boxes, his voice belting a song that struck something in Dean.

He listened closely to the lyrics.

"Life can show no mercy
It can tear your soul apart
It can make you feel like you've gone crazy
But you're not

Things have seem to changed
There's one thing that's still the same
In my heart you have remained
And we can fly, fly, fly away

'Cause you are not alone
And I am there with you
And we'll get lost together
Til the light comes pouring through

'Cause when you feel like you're done
And the darkness has won
Babe, you're not lost,"

"What song is that?" Dean frowned stepping into the room.

"Oh, hello, Dean," Cas said turning to the hunter, "It's from the new album Sam gave me. He told me I might like to listen to something at night since I don't sleep. It's called lost by Michael buble," Cas answered turning back to the boxes.

"You have a beautiful voice. Now I understand the phrase 'voice of an angel'. I've never heard that song before," Dean stepped in towards the angel.

"I like it, cause it makes me think of you," Cas said, not looking up from his task.

Dean paused. Things between him and Cas had been different lately. Their touches lingered longer and their glances were more than glances. There was something there that neither one had the guts to mention.

"You often seem like you're alone in this fight," Cas looked over his shoulder at Dean, "You're not."

Dean's chest tightened slightly. He knew what Cas was saying.

"I know, Cas," Dean said quietly. He had Sam and Cas, Dean knew that well, but that didn't change the pressure he put on himself.

"Then why don't you let me help you?" Cas turned around. His expression sad and frustrated at the same time.

"I do, but you have to understand, if I lose you or Sam..." Dean trailed off. He'd already lost so many people, too many.

"And what if we lose you?"

Dean snorted.

"See, that's what I mean," Cas stepped forward.

Dean's eyes met Cas' blue ones, "I'm not worth the trouble Cas," Dean shook his head, dropping his eyes to the cement floor.

"I disagree, and so would Sam," Cas sighed. He went to turn back to the boxes but Dean grabbed his shoulder.

"Cas," Dean's firm grip softened. His hand slid down Cas' arm just slightly, ,"Thank you."

Cas' shoulders slumped slightly as Dean released him, "Of course, Dean."

The hunter longed to reach out to the angel again, but he couldn't.

"Sing another one," Dean requested quietly as he took box from the shelf to help Cas.

Cas started into another song from the album.

"You're a fallen star,
You're the getaway car,
You're the line in the sand
When I go too far,
You're the swimming pool
On an August day,
And you're the perfect thing to say,"

Dean watched as Cas' mouth formed each word effortlessly.

"And you play it coy
But it's kinda cute
Oh when you smile at me
You know exactly what you do"

Cas' eyes lifted to Dean's face then.

"Baby don't pretend
That you don't know it's true
'Cause you can see it when I look at you."

Dean swallowed hard. Was Cas doing this on purpose?

"And in this crazy life
And through these crazy times,
It's you, it's you
You make me sing
You're every line
You're every word
You're everything."

Before Dean could stop himself, he surged forward, silencing Cas' voice with his lips.

Cas gripped at the hunter's waist as Dean's hands found their way into Cas' hair.

"Shit, Cas," Dean swore, pulling back.

Cas didn't respond, his eyes were bright and his lips tinted red from the friction.

"You make me crazy," Dean's fingers were still in Cas' hair. His eyes fell to the angels mouth.

"If I'd known singing would elicit that reaction I'd have done it a long time ago," Cas said, his voice low and his mouth wet.

Dean grabbed Cas' tie and pulled him back into another kiss.

It was safe to say, that 'something' between them, was no longer just lingering touches and longing stares.
