The sound of Daisy and Baxter barking made Stiles smile. He carefully made his way up the steps to Bobby's front door.
When the older man opened his door Baxter bolted between Bobby's legs and leapt at Stiles, "What the hell?" Bobby frowned.
"Hey Baxter," Stiles who had knelt down to pet his dog looked up at Bobby, "Hey Bobby,"
Bobby immediately grabbed his gun and pointed it at Stiles, "Who the hell are you?" Bobby demanded.
"Whoa, Bobby it's me, Stiles," Stiles put his hands up as he stood back up.
"Stiles is dead," The older mans voice growled, a hint of regret underlying his words.
"I was, but then I woke in some field and...I don't know what happened. Here look," Stiles pulled out a silver knife and cut his arm, "And I know you got a flask of holy water on you," Stiles held his hand out.
Bobby hesitantly held out the flask.
Stiles took a sip, "See It's me."
Bobby grabbed the middle Winchester pulling him into a tight hug, "How'd you get out of hell?"
"I don't know, but I think something pulled me out," Stiles lifted his sleeve to show a scar in the shape of a hand print.
-
Stiles touched his shoulder gently where Cas' print had remained for several weeks as he watched the angel argue with Dean. The two did that a lot. Right now they were arguing over whether Crowley could be trusted.
"He's a demon, Cas," Dean snapped.
"He has just as much a reason to want Lucifer back in the cage as we do and we have no other options," Cas pointed out.
"Stiles?" Dean turned to his younger brother, "Tell him I'm right."
"I do have to agree with Dean," Stiles had learned his lesson about trusting demons.
"Sam?" Stiles turned to the youngest Winchester.
"I'm with Cas on this, what choice do we have?" Sam shrugged.
Stiles tried to ignore the smile Cas gave his younger brother. He'd noticed Sam and Cas agreed on a lot of things. It made the two of them closer and Stiles was slightly jealous. He had slowly developed feelings for the angel over the past few months despite his best efforts.
-
"You're Castiel," Stiles said staring at the man that had walked into the barn, blowing out light and rattling the roof.
"I am," Castiel nodded.
Stiles took that moment to stab the demon blade into the man in the trench coat.
Castiel sighed as he removed the blade.
At that moment Bobby went after him with a silver blade, but before he could reach him, Castiel put two fingers to Bobby's head rendering him unconscious.
"We need to talk Stiles, alone."
-
Stiles hadn't believed in God before Cas pulled him from hell, but that night in the barn, witnessing something as spectacular as an angel had shifted his believes a bit. Cas had seen fit for him to be saved and he'd stayed by his side through everything to help him. He turned against heaven for him, and that wasn't something Stiles could ignore. It meant something to him. No, it meant everything to him.
"Stiles, you alright?" Dean asked putting a hand on his younger brother's shoulder, shaking him from his thoughts.
"Yeah," Stiles smiled up at Dean. He had been more protective since Stiles got back from hell. It had taken a toll on all three brothers. Even Baxter stayed by his side more.
"I'm taking Daisy and Baxter out for a walk, maybe you can talk some sense into Cas and Sam," Dean went for the drawer where they kept the leashes.
"I'll try," Stiles snorted. Cas was stubborn and when he had something in his head, there way no convincing him otherwise.
Even so, Stiles made his way to the living room where Cas and Sam were talking.
"You guys really think it's smart to trust Crowley?" Stiles took a seat on the loveseat across from Sam and Cas. Stiles couldn't help but notice they were both on the couch together looking at one of Bobby's lore books.
"No, of course not, but what choice do we have?" Sam said looking up.
Stiles sighed, "You know this could be a trap."
"It could also be our only chance at taking down Lucifer," Cas spoke up next.
Stiles ran a hand through his disheveled hair. Maybe they were right, as much as he hated it. Dean wouldn't ever agree to it, but maybe if they had a convincible idea, "Do you at least have a plan?"
-
"An angel?" Dean scoffed at Stiles. That was the most ridiculous thing he'd ever heard.
"I didn't believe it either at first, but it's true. He had massive wings and nothing hurt him," Stiles knew Dean would be skeptical, Sam on the other hand had been excited to learn that angels were real. He'd always had faith and believed in God.
"Alright, so when do we meet this...angel," Dean crossed his arms.
"He said all I have to do is pray," Stiles shrugged.
-
Stiles lay in staring at the ceiling. He used to pray to Cas whenever he was still working with Heaven, before they realized Heaven was jumpstarting the apocalypse.
The angel would always answer, no matter what hour it was. Now Cas was with them all the time, and Stiles much preferred that, except now he had to share the angel with his brothers. He knew it was selfish, but Dean was the better looking brother and Sam was the better behaved brother. However, with Cas, Stiles had been sure he would be closest with him. Dean and him argued too much thankfully, and Sam was the boy with demon blood. But that didn't deter Cas like Stiles might have thought. It wasn't like Sam could help having demon blood in him and he was better off now that ruby was gone, but still.
There was a knock at Stiles' door.
"Yeah," Stiles guess it was Dean.
"Is something wrong, Stiles?"
"Cas," Stiles sat up upon seeing the angel.
"I felt a...longing, is there something you wish to speak with me about?" Cas asked hesitating at the door.
"Oh, umm, I was just remembering when we met," Stiles hoped the darkness hid the blush that filled his cheeks.
"Oh?" Cas seemed curious.
"I'm glad to have you around, Cas," Stiles had never been good with expressing his emotions.
"I'm happy to be here. Have a good night, Stiles."
Stiles could see the smile in the faint moonlight before Cas closed the door. "Goodnight, Cas."
