Dean paced the war room as he waited for Stiles and Derek to show up. He'd insisted on meeting Derek, so Stiles set up a dinner date. Dean had spent hours cooking a nice dinner and they were now just waiting for the young couple to arrive.

"Dean, you shouldn't worry so much," Cas sighed as he watched the hunter pace menacingly.

"It's been a week since I've found out about this, cut me some slack," Dean grumbled. Stiles had only met with Derek once since Dean found out and Dean had spent the entire night by his phone, just in case.

"Cas says he's a good kid," Sam offered then, walking in. He had been surprised to hear of Stiles' new boyfriend but had been supportive.

"He's a werewolf, Sam," Dean huffed, as if that was enough of a reason for the kid to be terrible.

Just then the door opened and in stepped Stiles, his hand laced with another.

Dean's eyes were brought to a taller more built guy beside his son. He had dark features and a stone expression. Dean wanted to say he was surprised to see Stiles had attracted the tall dark and handsome type but he simply wasn't. He only hoped this Derek would be a squirrely anxious type.

"Derek, Stiles," Cas smiled up as the pair.

"Hey, Dads, Uncle Sam, this is Derek," Stiles was squeezing the guys' hand so tight his knuckles were white. Derek didn't seem to mind though.

"Mr. Winchester, nice to see you again," Derek held out a hand to Cas.

"I told you call me, Cas," Cas smiled taking Derek's hand.

"This is uncle Sam," Stiles gestured to Sam, who approached next with his hand extended.

"Mr. Winchester," Derek gave a curt nod as he took Sam's hand.

"And this is my other dad," Stiles looked at Dean with worried eyes.

Dean had his jaw set, he had promised Stiles he would behave, but his hunter side was itching to pester him with a thousand questions.

"Mr. Winchester, I've heard a lot about you," Derek extended his hand.

Dean hesitated until Cas cleared his throat. Dean took the younger guy's hand, "I wish I could say the same," He shot Stiles a look then.

"Dad," Stiles sighed.

"I know it's probably not easy for you, but I appreciate the chance to prove myself worthy of your son," Derek said, his eyes dropping to the floor before meeting Stiles'.

Dean opened his mouth to respond when Cas cut in, "I hope you're hungry, Dean made lasagna for dinner," Cas placed his hand at the base of Dean's back, leading him towards the kitchen.

Everyone took their seats at the table as Sam served out the food.

"Mmm, this is amazing," Derek hummed around a bite of one of the homemade rolls Dean had made.

"Not exactly human hearts huh?" Dean quipped.

"Dad," Stiles snapped.

"Dean," Cas shot the hunter a look.

"Excuse my brother, he's still warming up to the idea of you being a..." Sam trailed off then.

"It's alright, I'm sure it's hard for you all to trust me. I don't blame you. However, I would like to clarify that I'm not the kind that eat human hearts. We're a different species," Derek spoke looking directly at Dean.

"You ever killed someone?" Dean asked then.

"Dad," Stiles snapped again.

"Dean," Cas shot him another glare.
