It wasn't uncommon for Stiles to sneak out of the bunker, but it was getting more and more frequent and Dean was getting worried.

"What if he's doing something he shouldn't be," Dean paced the war room floor.

"He's obviously doing something he shouldn't be Dean, otherwise he wouldn't be sneaking out to do it," Cas pointed out.

"Then why aren't you more worried about this?" Dean threw his hands up.

Cas smiled at the gesture, it was one Stiles did often. It reminded Cas of just how similar Stiles was to his father.

"Stiles is a smart kid, he's likely just afraid of what you'll say," Cas sighed. Dean had always been protective of the kid. It wasn't surprising with how protective Dean had always been over his brother. Once a child was thrown into the mix Dean barely slept with how much he'd worried. Even now, sixteen years later, Dean still worried like Stiles was five.

Cas remembered the day Stiles came into their lives. Amara had promised Dean something in return for reuniting her with her brother. Little did Dean know it would be a child. The infant was a shock to Sam and Cas but they took him in like he was family. Dean had decided then would be a good time to admit his feelings to Cas and ask if he'd raise the child with him. Cas had of course, agreed.

"If he's afraid of what I'll say, then it's probably because I won't approve," Dean spoke in an exasperated huff.

"Dean, what is it you're afraid of?" Cas looked up at the hunter with fond eyes.

"That he's gonna get himself killed," Dean said, as if it was obvious.

At that moment the door to the garage opened and Stiles slipped in quietly. He reached the bottom of the stairs and stopped.

"Uh, hey dads," Stiles swallowed hard.

"Where the hell have you been?" Dean demanded.

"Just out for a bit," Stiles shrugged as if it was no big deal.

"Out where?" Dean demanded.

Stiles bit down on his lower lip, his eyes darting to Cas.

Dean noticed and immediately realized why Cas hadn't been more concerned. He knew.

"Cas," Dean growled at the angel.

"It's not his fault, I asked him not to say anything. I promised him I'd tell you," Stiles stepped in. He could see the anger in his father's eyes.

"Tell me what?" Dean snapped turning back to Stiles.

"I'm...seeing someone," Stiles answered nervously.

"What?" Dean blinked at his son.

"I know you're mad, but I was afraid to tell you, so I just told dad that way he'd know where I was," Stiles spoke quickly.

"You thought I'd be mad cause you're dating?" Dean frowned. That didn't make sense.

"You don't trust anyone," Stiles pointed out.

"With good reason. But you could have told me, you had me worried Stiles." Dean's tone was softer now, "So who is she? Or he?"

"His name is Derek," Stiles looked like he might throw up.

"Okay, how long have you been seeing him?" Dean had a feeling Stiles wasn't going to be releasing any information willingly.

"Three months," Stiles' tone was dripping with guilt.

"Three mo-" Dean cut himself off. He shot a glare at Cas.

"I wanted to make sure it was worth telling you," Stiles explained, he still sounded nervous.
