Stiles' hand was threaded in Derek's as they entered the restaurant. It was busy, which made Stiles glad he'd set up reservations.
"Winchester," Stiles said approaching the hostess.
"Of course, your table is waiting," The brunette smiled as she led the two around a large stone pillar.
Stiles' hand dropped Derek's instantly and his face paled as they reached their table.
"There they are," Dean smiled standing up.
Derek frowned at the four men that had been seated at their table.
Stiles' face had paled.
"What are you guys doing here?" Stiles asked looking past his oldest brother to Sam.
"Date night, right?" Dean asked with a large grin before turning his attention to Derek.
"Dean, you didn't tell me we were crashing Stiles' date," Sam huffed at his brother.
"Explains, why he was so insistent on coming here," Cas sighed.
"Stiles has a boyfriend?" Gabriel asked in surprise.
"How'd you know I'd be here?" Stiles asked not making a move to sit down.
"I heard you make reservations on the phone. I may have called and added a few to the list," Dean shrugged, "I had to meet this mystery man dating my little brother," Dean gave Derek's shoulder a pat and a hard squeeze.
Derek didn't flinch.
"We're leaving," Stiles went to turn, but Dean grabbed his arm.
"Hey, wait, come on, we're all here. Let's have a nice triple date," Dean urged Derek and Stiles to sit.
"It's fine. I had to meet them eventually," Derek agreed taking a seat next to Gabriel.
"When was that gonna be by the way?" Dean asked looking at Stiles' pointedly as they too took their seats.
"I didn't even know you were seeing someone," Gabriel piped up again.
"Neither did we, so imagine my surprise," Dean didn't look away from his youngest brother with accusing eyes.
"You tend to be judgmental and I actually like Derek and wanted to keep him around," Stiles huffed out in irritation.
"He doesn't look like the type to scare easy," Gabriel grinned at Derek, "I'm Gabriel, Sam's boyfriend."
"Derek."
"And we have an introduction," Dean cheered sarcastically.
"Excuse my brother, he tends to be a bit over protective. It's nice to meet you," Sam gave Derek a warm smile.
"You must be Sam," Derek noted.
"He told you about us," Dean commented, "Wish we could say the same."
"Okay, I get it, you're mad I didn't tell you I was seeing someone," Stiles huffed.
"Dean," Cas gave the hunter a look.
"What? I have a right to be irritated, he's not only dating someone, but a freakin' werewolf," Dean hissed quietly.
Derek tensed then.
All the blood drained from Stiles' face.
"When I found out, I did a little digging." Dean looked at Derek accusingly.
"Digging?" Derek looked at Stiles.
"Checked his phone records, saw he was talking to a Derek Hale an awful lot. Hale rang a bell but I couldn't place it. I asked around a bit and imagine my surprised when I got a call from none other than Chris Argent."
Derek's jaw clenched.
"You know that name, don't you," Dean smirked.
"Dean," Cas snapped.
"I must say, I'm surprised there's not a gun to my face. All the 'wonderful' things I've heard about Dean Winchester, I should consider myself lucky to be alive," Derek spoke simply, not looking away from the hunter.
Gabriel choked on his water with a laugh.
Dean raised his brows.
"And yet you still thought it wise to date my little brother." It wasn't posed as a question.
"As I understand it, I'm not the only one whose done stupid things for the ones we love," Derek tossed a casual glance at Cas.
Sam chuckled at that.
"Argent told me you weren't the type to back down. Stiles needs someone willing to fight for him," Dean gave a nod.
Derek blinked, "What?"
"He also told me that you weren't a threat, but an ally."
"So this was a test?" Stiles snapped.
"I had to make sure he was worthy of my baby brother," Dean ruffled Stiles' hair. "Now who's hungry let's eat." He clapped his hands together before picking up his menu.
Derek still looked shocked and Stiles was still seething.
"So how long have you two been fucking?" Gabriel asked with a wide grin.
This times it was Sam's turn to choke on his drink.
"Gabriel," Sam hissed.
Stiles groaned as he sunk in his seat.
"Three months," Derek answered reaching for Stiles' leg under the table.
"How long have you two known each other?" Cas asked then.
"A little over a year. We met when he ran a call in Beacon Hills." Derek answered, "Something about him drew me in. I was thrilled when he made the first move." Derek smiled at the youngest Winchester.
"Wow, Stiles is the only one with guts in this family apparently," Gabriel winked at Sam.
Derek frowned in confusion.
"It took Dean what eight years to make a move on Cas? And Sam four years with me," Gabriel nudged Sam playfully with his elbow.
"To be fair, there were a lot of factors in play. And you're both angels, that doesn't exactly make you susceptible to human emotion," Dean pouted.
"I couldn't have waited that long," Derek shook his head, his eyes meeting Stiles'.
"I think you made a great choice, Stiles," Cas spoke up with a grin.
"Thank you," Stiles smiled back, threading his fingers through Derek's once again, "I do too."
