Gabriel sat at the war room table as Sam flipped through some lore book.

He tapped impatiently to which Sam didn't seem to notice.

“Hey, Sam, did it hurt when you feel from the vending machine?”

Sam paused and with a heavy sigh looked up at Gabriel, “What?”

“Cause you're a snack,” Gabriel gave a wink, grinning widely.

Sam rolled his eyes and turned back to his book, “If you're hungry, there's leftover pie in the fridge.”

It was Gabriel's turn to roll his eyes.
“Okay first of all, that's my pie, second of all, the only thing Gabriel is hungry for is you, Sammy,” Dean said walking in with Cas behind him.

Sam shot his brother a glare.

“Sam still hasn't told him?” Cas asked quietly. Evidently not quietly enough as Sam's head snapped in the angel's direction.

“Told me what?” Gabriel frowned. His interest peaked.

“Nothing,” Sam growled. His eyes shooting daggers at his brother's boyfriend.

“Oh, sorry, Sam,” Cas mumbled.

“No, I wanna know,” Gabriel said turning to Sam.

Dean chuckled at the bright red flush of his brother's cheeks.

“It's nothing,” Sam said quietly, slamming his book closed.

The other three men watched as Sam stalked out of the room and into the library.

Gabriel was quick on his heels.

“Wait, what is it? Please tell me?” Gabriel begged as Sam put the book away.

Sam sighed, “I just wish you would stop with the inappropriate jokes.”

Gabriel frowned, “Do they make you uncomfortable?”

Sam only nodded.

“I'm sorry, I didn't mean for them to. I was just trying to flirt with you, but I'll stop,” Gabriel looked disappointed.

“I know you're flirting, that's why it makes me uncomfortable,” Sam's eyes were on the floor.

“Oh,” Gabriel's disappointment grew, “I'm really sorry. I promise I'll stop. I didn't realize you weren't interested. You didn't really give me any clear signs.”

“Weren't interested?” Sam looked up, his eyes quizzical.

“In me. Like that,” It was Gabriel's turn to stare at the floor.

“You think I'm interested in you? Like dating you?” Sam's eyes rose in surprise.

“I had hoped,” Gabriel shrugged.
“You had…” Sam trailed off, his jaw agape.

“Look, I get it, I promise not to flirt with you anymore,” Gabriel turned to walk away but Sam grabbed his arm.

“Wait, Gabriel, you…want to date me?” Sam seemed unsure. Like he was waiting for the punchline of a joke that he wouldn't find funny.

“Of course I do, I thought I made that pretty obvious,” Gabriel tilted his head slightly. It reminded Sam of Cas a bit.

“I thought you were just mocking me,” Sam released Gabriel.

“Mocking you? Why would I be mocking you?” Gabriel scoffed at the idea.

“Because I like you. I thought you knew and were just being an ass,” Sam answered, his eyes not leaving Gabriel's gold colored ones.

Instead of responding Gabriel reached up and placed his lips against Sam's.

Sam pressed in further.

“Whoa, no sex in the library. That was your rule, remember, Sam?” Dean said walking in then.

Sam and Gabriel separated, both blushing heavily.
