The Cartel Part 2: A Thin Line

Paris sat out by the pool as she watched Shamar & Kelsey bicker about something. Sipping on her wine she thought of everything Kelsey had just said to her, she wanted to be a good sister and friend to her but she felt as if she wouldn't be doing that if she didn't tell her the truth .. And the truth was she didn't see her leaving Shamar .. It didn't matter how many bruises Shane left on her, Kelsey always had an excuse for him .. and she found it hard to believe the one person who convinced her to stay with Shane over and over again was now the same person running away from it ..

Only a couple minutes into their argument, Shane emerged from the house. Walking over to Paris he gave her a kiss on the cheek before sitting down next to her ..

"What they arguing about ?"Shane asked

Shrugging, Paris popped open another bottle of wine and filled her glass "What do they don't argue about is the question .." Paris replied rolling her eyes ..

"Y'all good ?" He asked referring to her and Kelsey,
He could sense something was off .. one of his many jobs was to know those things .. it was a known fact in order to not have mediocrity in the streets you had to start with what was at home first ..

The last thing he needed was the two women who held down this other part of him and his brothers life to be beefing .. Chaos at home meant chaos everywhere, and they weren't having it ..

"I'm good .." Paris replied with a smirk as she picked up her glass and refocused her attention back to Shamar and Kelsey

"That ain't what I asked you .." Shane replied, but before Paris could say anything else his phone went of ..

"Saved by the bell.." She said to herself

Standing up Shane smirked as he answered his phone .. "This ain't over .." He said as he answered his phone and walked away ..

Paris watched as her husband walked away, interrupting Kelsey and Shamar's argument he spoke to Shamar for a second before they both disappeared into the house ..

Locking eyes with Kelsey from across the yard she watched as she rolled her eyes at her and went into the house .. Gulping down the rest of her wine, Paris sat her glass down and headed for the house .. She could hear Kelsey's foot steps as she followed her through the house and up the stairs until she reached her and Shamar's bedroom .. Once inside Kelsey slammed the door in Paris' face right before she invited herself in anyway ..

"Real mature" Paris said

"What do you want Paris ?!" Kelsey asked as she turned to her sister in law ..

Kelsey had tears streaming down her face as she glared at Paris ..

Sighing, Paris was starting to feel bad for her ..

"Talk to me Kelsey, you know I'm here for you but I need to know everything !! Start from the beginning because I'm having a hard time trying to understand how you have always been Shane and Shamar's biggest fans, now all of a sudden more than a decade later you're ready to leave him ? Kelsey you've been with him for years, I'm not telling you you should stay but I'm asking why now ? I'll get you what you need, money, cars, anything but you need to tell me before I go putting my own ass on the line to help you .. what has changed ? What happened?" Paris asked

"Tia happened .." Kelsey replies

"Keep going .." Paris said

Sighing, Kelsey shook her head .. "Paris, Shamar has always been there for me .. I've always had him if I didn't have anybody else !! People never understood why I stayed with him but I stayed because if it wasn't for him I'd probably still be struggling .. I'd be worse off more than likely .. I love him Paris, to death but out of all these years Shamar has never cheated on me .. I was loyal to him and he has been loyal to me !! Bruises and all.. I stayed because the good always outweighed the bad but this time.. it was different.. me finding out he slept with her and possibly got her pregnant changed everything!! I don't care what happened in our home behind closed doors he never stepped out on me and I'm not saying that justifies the abuse but I'm saying I could handle it .. but him betraying me like that .. I can't handle !!" Kelsey said ..

"You think he's still cheating ?" Paris asked

"I don't know .. he's doing something, anytime he's still out and Shane is at home with you that's odd .. anything they do they do together!! We both know this Paris .. so what is he out doing alone ?" She replied

"I don't know .." Paris said

"Exactly.." Kelsey said

"Well you won't find out in here being depressed either .. Get yourself together, and act like you know who you are !! whatever you wanna do I'm down for it .." Sitting next to Kelsey, Paris wrapped her arm around her sister in law "Like you once told me, I need you to be aware of what you're walking away from and how it's gonna affect you .. it's not all about Shamar, this is about you too .." Paris said

Standing up, Paris reached her hand out to Kelsey .. "Let's go finish cooking, we're going to this dinner with them tonight .. They're meeting Estoban there for some deal, I need you on your P's & Q's .." She finished

Nodding, Kelsey grabbed Paris' hand as she stood up .. "Since when did the student become the teacher ?" She asked as she wiped her eyes

Laughing, they headed out of the bedroom and downstairs to the kitchen ..
