Sorry this is super short, I had to change a whole ton in editing to make this part work with what I had written already.
What happened next is all a blur.
First, the raspy masculine voice that opened the door was Mr. Garfield. His red flaming hair was unmistakable, even in the dark. He popped his head in first and then stepped all the way in the janitor's closet.
"I know you are here Kai, your smell is a dead giveaway. The palm tree breeze mixed with a salty spray aroma fills my nose and it drives me insane. Besides, all the water pipes in here are going haywire. Come out on your own and we won't hurt you."
Behind him Mrs.Garfield sticks her button nose in the air and gives a delicate sniff, and sneezes.
"What was the door about?" he mutters to her.
"There was the same horrid smell of death in there, but no human, or demigod." She squeaks in her high pitched glory.
"Just like that boy yesterday, we have to find him to, or master would be most unpleased. Anyone who knows anything about her needs to be disposed of. Now hush, she could be listening." Both teachers step deeper into the janitor's closet.
Kai presses herself even closer to the wall wishing it would swallow her up, gripping the knife in her sweaty palm.
'tap' 'tap'
The wall behind her is being rapped on repeatedly, but soft enough to hardly be heard over the swirling of the water around her. She wills herself to still the water near where she thinks the source of the noise is. A hand reaches through the wall as if it was liquid, grabs her mouth to keep her from yelling and pulls her to it. In her shock, she dropped the knife with a clatter. The wall rolled over her shoulders like a cold waterfall, allowing her to pass through.

Kai didn't realize her eyes were squeezed shut until she opened them.
Standing in front of her were four people. Nico, with his hand still covering her mouth, a freakishly tall guy with dark skin and bleach blonde hair, an average guy she'd seen around school a couple times, and behind them is a very confused Lucas.
"Let's get out of here." Nico whispers to the rest of them.
"ah, um . . how'd that happen?" Kai points to the wall.
"A gadget Leo Valdez made us." The tall dark and handsome guy replies. "It breaks down the molecules and atoms of a solid object and allows us to walk through them."
"C'mon." Nico says going to the opposite side of the classroom they were in. Another gadget was already set up. And so was the next three walls that they had to go through. But by then it was to late.
The teachers had found out that Kai wasn't there.
"Run!!" Nico shoved the group out into the hallway for a clearer path.
Unfortunately, it was a clear path for the teachers too.
They shrieked like a creature one would see in a fantasy show and galloped, yes galloped, on all fours of themselves.
Kai and the boys all ran for their lives out the school's entrance.
"What are those things!?!?" Lucas screeches.
Looking back, the teachers shape-shifted into two red demons complete with forked tails, wings, and horns.
"I DON'T KNOW, UNICORNS?!?! We can't keep running!!" Kai yells at Nico. "These things will catch up to us in no time!"
"Guys look!!" the other average looking kid, Evan Kai thinks his name is, points back.
Both demons have risen from the ground and flap their humongous wings.
Kai stops dead in her tracks to face them, while the rest of the guys, unknowingly, keep running and shouting at each other.
Her heart pounds as she looks dead in the monster's face. Gold eyes gleam with viciousness and his red leathery skin stretches tightly over every ripped muscle that could squash her in a heart beat. He grabs at Kai with his long talon-ed hands.
She just hardly saves herself by rolling between his long legs and popping up behind him. The other monster demands her attention when it flicks its forked tail across her cheek, cutting the surface. The smell of blood seems to drive both of the former teachers even more out of sorts, and they circle her like a pack of lions, while she is the prey.
Kai's senses stretch around her looking for something to use. Feeling her surroundings, she knows that there the school's water pipes are about ten yards to her left. Now I just have to get there. Kai thinks, which may be an issue.
Just to make matters worse, students begin to come out of the school, probably wondering what all the commotion is about.
"NOAH!!" Far off, Kai hears Nico scream. The two demons seemed to have taken this as their que, and leap. Thousands of pounds of hot sweaty stinky flesh piles on her, and some teeth grind her left leg, knocking her down.
I'm alive, that much she can feel. The two demons are still on her, but they are still, deathly still. Kai tries to wiggle around to get free, but her left leg is still locked in the jaws of one of the creatures.
"Can you hear me!" Nico's voice shouts from above her somewhere.
"Yes-ugh" Kai cringes as her leg moves slightly. She can feel the blood oozing on her skin even if she can't see it.
"Do you see my hand?" Above Kai, a pale hand reaches towards her through a break in the bodies.
"Yes."
"Good, now grab it and I'll pull you out-"
"No!"
"What? Why?"
"My leg is stuck, and all that would accomplish is blood loss at the least, and I would prefer to keep my leg in one piece thanks."
"How long before they wake up?" Nico asks
"Ten minutes if left alone." Kai hears a strained voice reply faintly. She has decided to try to free herself. Stretching out her consciousness, Kai feels the water slapping against the underground pipes. Two minutes pass as she works it, slamming it free and it travels through the ground. The longer she focuses, the more strained she becomes. The teeth twitch on her leg as if stirred by her using her powers.
"Kai?" Nico's voice has dropped to a warning tone. A low rumbling sounds off in the distance, getting louder and louder as it comes closer.
Water begins to seep out of the ground around Kai and forms an orb around her.
"Get back!" Nico shouts.
Kai engulfs herself in the water, and uses it as a shield. Pushing the water out, she solidifies it, the crackling sound of ice filling the air, so that it pushes the demons off of above her. Worn out for the effort all of that took, she falls back. Laying there halfway through consciousness, she feels the teeth get pulled off her leg. Relieved, she welcomes the darkness.
