She closed the door of cabin three behind her with a smile on her lips.
"So, that's who the note was from."

Instinctively, Kai throws an ice ball in the talker's direction.
Lucas catches it in a glowing hand, melting it.

Kai groaned, "If you must know it was from Liam."
He cringed.

"An old boyfriend?"

"No, my step-father genius." Kai bit her tounge to keep her thoughts locked up. Surely if they were to be spoken, one of them might end up hurt.

Lucas' eyes widened, "Oh my gods I'm sorry for bringing it up."

"You should be," Kai said. "Now get out of my cabin." She pointed him to the direction of the door.

"Yes ma'am." Lucas lunged for the door and peered outside. "You know something?"

"What?"

"You must not be to terribly upset with me." He smirked.

"What makes you think that?" Kai crossed her arms.

He stepped closer to her, so close Kai had to look up to look at him.

"There's no bad weather." Lucas stated. Then he spun around and left before giving her time to respond.

He was right in one aspect.

Kai had decided right there that she wouldn't be mad at anyone from now on because of how little time she had left.

That included her father.

Her biological father.

Kai walked up to the fountain in the back of the cabin.
She pulled out a drachma from her pocket and flicked it into it.

"Iris, goddess of the rainbow, please accept my offering." She bowed her head to it.

"Who would you like to call?" Kai's head shot up at the voice behind her.
It was a beautiful woman dressed in a tye-dye t-shirt and jeans. Her hair was braided and had rainbow feathers sticking out if it. Peace sign dangly earring hung from her ears, dancing as she walked closer.

"Um . . Poseidon, my father." Kai stammered.

"Of course dear, I heard about your dilemma and came to tell you something." Iris sat beside her before continuing. "In the prophecy, it says that the demigods who go on the quest are looking for something, correct? Yes, now it also says that it is a cure, do you know what for?"

Kai shook her head, though now a flicker of hope ignited in her chest.

"For you honey, they will find it, but for some reason I don't think you do. You may be separated or not even on the quest. So I'm here to give you something." She snapped her fingers, and in an array of glitter, a bottle appears hovering next to them.

"This is an extremely diluted version of the golden apples of immortality. It will buy you about two to three more days at the rate your body is degrading. Take it dear, it will heal any any ailment of the drinker."

Kai sat dumbfounded.

Iris placed the bottle in her lap before twinkling away.

"Hello?" A gruff voice said over the Iris message.

"You really do exist." Kai whispered watching Poseidon tap the message.
"Is this thing working right?"

"Yes." Kai cleared her throat. "Yes, sorry."

A moment of awkward silence stretched.
"You forgot me." Kai spit out.

"Excuse me?" He squinted at her.
