(Kai's POV)

"How do we kill it?!" Loki shot up, the pink liquid still on his face, though it's glow was now fading.

Kai flinched away from being startled, she hadn't been expecting it to work so fast.

"A spear of enchantment!!!" Morgana cried as she barely held the collapsing roof off of her.

"WE DON'T HAVE ONE!!!" Evan screamed.

"DUDE CHILL!!" Loki called back, smacking him across the face. This apparently helped him get a grip on it, or maybe Loki just wanted to do it for fun before they all died.

Whichever the reason, it seemed to work, Evan calmed down and started to help Morgana push the metal back into place.

"Where would we find one?" Raven asked, mopping up a gash on Lucas' head.
Whatever spell Morgana had cast, was quickly fading giving Kai back her vision bit by bit.

But that also meant that the Catoblepas could see them better as well.

For these brief seconds, the Catoblepas had receded in his assault.

The beats of Kai's heart slowed as the chaos unfolded.

She watched helplessly as the side of the limo was pulled out by two tusks. The brake's squealed, emitting a gaseous stench into the night air right before all the limo's passengers were tossed about the car's interior.

(Loki's POV)

The first thing he registers is the stinging abrasion above his eye.

'My name is Loki and I bow to no one.' His mind chanted.
"Get up." He commands his body, and it painstakingly obeys. Sitting on his knees, he begins to survey the damage of the car that is on fire before a recent memory comes to play. Hastily he screws his eyes shut, not willing to go through the process of being turned into stone again.

Great, now what? He thought sarcastically. If I can't see this thing, then how can I find anyone or kill it for that matter. Wait, I know I need something to be able to beat it. What did she say it was? Loki scraped his brain to try to trigger what Morgana had said they needed to overcome the Cato- something, he didn't remember.

Which in Loki-speak it means he wasn't paying attention.
His soul literally jumped from his skin when something, a hand, touched his shoulder.

"Jeez!! It's just me!!" Kai's taut wobbly voice replied.

"Oh." Loki probably looked ridiculous waving his hands through the air to find her and help her to her feet. Once he managed to do so, Kai whispered "Is the thing still here?"

"I think we might be lunch by now if it were." He said. "Is it safe to open our eyes?"

"We need to find the others, so it's a good idea. Just remember, at the slightest movement you see, shut them." She answered, her voice husky from the smoke.

Slowly, hesitantly, Loki opens his eyes. They must have been unconscious for a long time, since the sun was peeping over the horizon in a breathtaking sunrise, though the smoke did waver his vision slightly.

Kai's fingertips brush Loki's eyebrow.

"You're hurt." Loki's gut twisted whenever she spoke like that, as if she herself was the one injured, or that it was her fault.

"It's nothing." He mumbled, his face heating.

She obviously didn't care what he said, since she walked towards a tossed out backpack that had survived the crash. He recognized it to be Lucas' bag as she dug through it and pulled out a water bottle. Loki watched mesmerized as the liquid flowed out through the air. What a shock he got as it blasted his face.
Officially shook, Loki stood there sputtering.
"What was that for?!" He protested.

Kai gestured to his eyebrow, her blue eyes twinkling with slight amusement. "All better."

Shocked yet again, Loki tenderly felt where the cut had been.

"Wha- how?" he stuttered.

"We have to find the others." Kai cut him off, turning to the crash again. Loki followed her as she carefully shifted through the rubble. Well, the stuff that wasn't on fire anyway.

They managed to reach the drivers seat, but discovered it was empty, however, there was a suspicious crack in the ground that neither of the two could see the bottom of.

Not being much help, Loki wandered down the road that they had been traveling on. He froze mid step, careful to not disrupt the dust.

"KAI!!" He called.

"What is it!!" Her voice replies, a little far behind him.

"Found them!!"

Kai ran into him in her haste.

"Where?" She asked, her head whipping her blonde hair with bright blue tips back and forth.

"How is your hair still colored?" Spills out of his lips.

"What? I was born with it, I've tried to get rid of it before, but the color, even if cut, returns the next day. But what does that have to do with this?" Her eyes darkened as she looked around.

"Right, sorry." Loki apologized, "I found their footprints anyways."

Sure enough, multiple shaped feet had traversed down the dirt road recently.

"They were chased." Kai gasped. She squatted and traced her fingers through the smallest footprint.

Loki nods, hardly daring to look at the large round footprint that was at least twice the size of his own.

"Well well well."

Loki whipped around at the sound of a malicious sneer. A tall black man with pale skin stood among the flames leering at them. Loki quickly shot a glance at Kai to see she had paled, if that was even possible, and terror, as clear as day, took over her features.

As scary as this man was, what Loki feared more was that Kai was scared. He had never seen her that way. Not even facing her mother. So if this man made her petrified, then how bad was this dude.

"I've found you finally outside the borders of camp. Now you will come with me before you mess anything else up."

"Excuse me?" Loki snarled, a little protective over Kai now that she showed a weakness.

"No, excuse me young boy. This girl is a threat to the gods, and therefore, she will die." The man snarled, and all the shadows around Loki and Kai stretched with an imposing threat which was echoed in his voice.

Just at the least expected moment for someone to laugh, Kai did.

"Oh Hades, you think I fear death?"
