"Nothing can fix it!" Kai yelled at him as dark thunder clouds rolled ominously overhead.
He glanced warily at the sky with his arms stretched out in hesitance.
"If I didn't think that what I had in mind would stand even the slightest chance in working, do you think I would be here?" Lucas said.
Could his idea work?
"What is it?" She relented, still not convinced.
"I got the idea from when the water healed your leg, from the demon's gouging at our school, outside the cave-"
"The water did what now?" Kai interjected, bewildered.
"It healed your leg, remember how you could walk on it afterward your -uhh- she dragged you under?" Lucas stammered.
She nodded, now wondering how she hadn't seen it before. Since she was daughter of the sea god, perhaps being in water healed her when she was in it.
"I thought that maybe if you spent awhile in the water after every time you use your powers, then it would heal all the damage that was done to your body from the exertion."
For some reason, Kai was inclined to not believe anything that came out of his mouth, so she imagined it coming from Will, and it sounded pretty reasonable after that.
"For the record," Raven startled the both of them from behind the bushes. "I think it might just work."
Out of the corner of her eye, Kai saw Lucas scowl at her.
"Really?" Kai asked, valuing Raven's opinion over his.
"Sure, that is if you don't overstep your boundaries, then I think we might be fine." Raven picked at her nails.
"We?"
"Yeah," Lucas cut in, "we're all in this."
"Isn't that sweet." Raven pursed her lips at him, then smirked once he glared at her. "I must be going, it's almost lunchtime. Come with?" She asked Kai.
She agreed, deciding it would be better than having to go back with Lucas.
The two girls trudged back towards camp, food on their minds.
"You know, you don't look like it." Raven said suddenly.
"Look like what?" Kai asked, pushing a branch out of her eyes.
"You don't look like you're dying, I think you look just perfectly fine."
"What that's supposed to mean?"
"Just ask Lucas, he thinks so too." Raven quirked her eyebrow at her.
"Lucas thinks what?"
"You're so blonde- HEY!" She jerks her head back.
"Sorry I slapped you, but you didn't seem like you were going to stop talking, and I panicked." Kai smirked.
"Wha- no- no it's okay." Raven blushed. "We shouldn't be discussing that this close to camp anyways.
"Don't go easy on me just because you're teaching me." Lucas smirked at Kai.
"I only agreed to this because you are helpless on the battlefield, and because Chiron asked." She spat back.
She shifted the trident in her hand as she weighted up her opponent/student.Chiron had originally asked Nico to train the newer demigods, Kai, Raven, Lucas, Loki, and Evan, in terms of one on one combat.
But Kai refused to have him come anywhere near her.
