Yeet!

At least that is what Kai wished she could do to Saffi out of the limo's window.

Her non-stop chattering mouth caused tingles to travel into Kai's brain stem.

And not the 'I feel good' tingles.

These ones made Kai want to tear Lucas' arm off and whack Saffi over the head with it.

As amusing as that would be, Kai had to play nice since she is an ambassador for a newfound camp.

Right now, Kai sits squished in between the lightning boy, Jason, and Raven.

Across from her, Saffi's loud voice dominates the whole limo's conversation.

"You mean you guys hide away and aren't treated like the gods or goddesses you are?" Her mouth forms a look of appalment.

"Do you mean you guys don't abstain from showing humans our abilities." Noah asked.

"Oh no, we are practically royalty there. I couldn't imagine not being treated the way we are. There is simply no other way that is right for our blood, as it is from the gods." Saffi explained.

"But can the humans see through the mist?" Nico asked from the far side of the limo.

"Mist? Oh you mean the uhi. No, but our gods only mate with the royal bloodline as no other human is fit for them. They are proud and just, our gods deserve the best, and from our tribes, our chiefs are the most noble of us."

Her rapid, boastful tone grated on Kai's ears, twisting her gut, as if she smelled something awful like a dump or mold that is two years old.

"Do you not show your humans your wonderous talents?" Saffi questioned.

"Our humans?" Kai tears her tongue from under her teeth where she had been biting it to keep quiet, rising from her seat in her anger.
"Humans? Nobel? Do you even hear yourself?! We do not own the humans! We are not above them!! Having gods as parents does not make us more special!! Every person on this planet has the same equality as the next!"

Saffi rises to face Kai in the eyes,
"The humans have no honor, they are filthy disgusting creatures created to serve those who are like us, demigods who are above them in every way."

"It doesn't matter where or who you came from!" Kai's fingers twitched, itching to strangle this girl. "It only matters who you choose to be! Why can't you see that?! Our parentage does not define who you are!!"

Saffi's eyes glew, turning from a warm brown, to an orange umber.

"Noah, could you?" Kai hears Will whisper.

She turns to face him when Noah touches her and Saffi's temples.

Instantly, Kai's eyes roll to the back of her head as her body collapses.

Why do these people always resort to knocking people unconscious to solve their problems? I could have easily solved that with one swing, just one swing at that little fire girl. Kai's train of thought, even in her dreams, were one sided.

She woke up thrashing in a cold sweat from her nightmare.

Saffi and her mother had joined forces and had been ripping through the people she would call her closest acquaintances, in a wall of ice and fire.

The worst part wasn't even how brutally they died, nor how many times, it was the fact that Kai was forced to watch, helpless.

As if her bones were made of lead and the ground beneath her was the worlds strongest magnet.
